Before you even bother trying to correct this person, keep in mind that they are also so unbelievably stupid that they think ICE is arresting criminals.
Entering the country illegally IS a crime. Just because the previous administration tolerated it doesn’t mean it’s not.
Sir, it is a misdemeanor. On par with speeding or jaywalking. Also it is not a crime to enter seeking asylum, but theyre treating it like it is.
Yes, but the proscribed punishment is deportation, look it up.
It being a misdemeanor simply means it won't go on your permanent record, and you'll be eligible to enter the US again lawfully after 5 years or so.
Speeding is also a crime, but we don't send speeders to work camps in the Everglades.
