I wonder what changed too.
The only thing I noticed is that preview images are more pixelated and lower quality then they were before this update. If you click to open them up then they will go to full quality.

That's what I noticed too, pretty terrible as now you are pretty much forced to fully open posts like comics. Hopefully it wasn't intentional.
Edit: if you go into setting you can turn off "convert posts to webp" to fix it

v195 seems to have broken the three dots menu at the top right of a community (when you open a community and try and go into the menu it does nothing)
Also, can you add support for embedded videos? Videos can be embedded in the text in the same fashion as images, but these don't show up in Connect.

No change. At least it's reporting it's 196 although I didn't see a changelog pop up like I normally would on an update.
