Did the US just become Canada’s 11th Province?

A hockey game may seem like a small thing, but this was very meaningful for us. Well done to Team Canada - you did us all proud.

This American was rooting for you, too.

Canada defeated USA in the 4 Nations hockey competition. It was a good game that some apparently ascribed political relevance to. Seemed like just a hockey game to me.

Reminds me of US vs Soviet Russia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_on_Ice

The US switched sides, but the good guys win again.

I think the US team invited Trump. He didn't go, but he publicly cheered them on.

Canada won the 4 Nations Hockey tournament final vs USA 3-2 in overtime but there's a little extra context needed. They played each other earlier in the tournament in Canada and the Canadian fans booed the US national anthem. Once the puck dropped there were like 3 fights and USA won that game. Fast-forward to the final and Canada got the last laugh by winning the tournament in Boston over USA. Many dumb Americans added political pressure to that booing and win

I think you still haven't provided enough context:

They played each other earlier in the tournament in Canada and the Canadian fans booed the US national anthem

...due to America's leader denying Canada's sovereignty, and launching a tariff regime intended to cripple Canada's economy.

In this game the Americans booed Canada's national anthem, while in a sense retaliatory is also a doubling down and refusal to acknowledge the legitimacy of Canada's grievance.

Thanks for the added context. I didn't watch or follow much of this.
