Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

My dead sir, you're bisexual

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 55 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Dead

He will be if his girl finds out and they arent in an open relationship

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Even if they are, a lot of people "get the ick" about gay men when they have to deal with them close and personally, not even bisexual women are exempt from this.

I've never had a problem with it, because I just view it as the trash taking itself out.

This circumstance is pretty fake though

[–] Boomkop3@reddthat.com 3 points 3 days ago

lmao, that was a great typo

Sexuality is a spectrum. All that trying to make sexual preference binary does is make people stressed out.

Shrooms made them feel free and live the moment. They shared an amazing moment in time. It doesn't have to be or mean more than that.

Now I want to go around saying “im normal i have girl”, but nobody would get the reference.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 3 days ago

[–] MilliaStrange@beehaw.org 13 points 4 days ago

Men and comphets are wild. The guy cheated on his girlsfriend and he is still panicking about himself and if he is gay rather than the harm to her. Dickhead

[–] criitz@reddthat.com 63 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Devils advocate here, but depending on the relationship, a seismic shift in my own identity might be more urgent to think thru than how it affects someone I just started dating.

[–] StarlightDust@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I would argue the issue to be communication. It is his responsibility to communicate his needs with her before violating her boundaries. Its a consent violation at the end of the day.

[–] Sas@beehaw.org 3 points 3 days ago

[–] Duke_Nukem_1990@feddit.org 2 points 3 days ago

"It's not my fault, I was drunk."

[–] 6mementomorib@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 4 days ago

the shit that happens when you force people to deny their sexuality. not condone, but this happens, this is real, we should deal with it.

[–] modifier@lemmy.ca 11 points 4 days ago (1 children)

But honestly saliva sex is my favorite though so I can relate.

[–] HEXN3T@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Read it as salvia (divinorum) sex and I was like hell yeah but this is cool too

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 days ago

That sounds terrifying actually lmao
