Yeah because that's how prosecutions start...by dumping troves of documents into the public domain so that we can do a citizen's arrest!

These breathing MAGA bots moonlight as fucking clowns.

Unredacted flight logs or it isn't released.

Any other specific documents we need?

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

Epstein’s client list is what will legally incriminate his ‘customers.’ Flight logs are good evidence, but not enough for a case alone.

How do MAGA folks ignore Trump's DEEEEEEEP ties to Epstein so completely???

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 hours ago

They just grab the nearest pussy, of-age or non, and don’t think about it.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 78 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

They don't ignore it, they don't care.

They think elites should be able to do what they want— reactionary ideology was founded as a monarchical counterrevolutionary movement, and that's the ideal they're working backwards to achieve.

Note that this obviously doesn't apply to elites who aren't aligned with their movement.

They use rhetoric to divide the opposition and to rally their base; they don't actually care about coherence.

Recently, one of my moms was ranting about how corrupt Biden was for pardoning his son (she didn't even know what he was charged for - I got her to look it up and then her response was basically "well, he deserved it anyways because of corruption). Later the same day, we were talking about how Musk was abusing his position to fire people investigating his companies and my moms responses were "that's smart".

There's so much "as long as my team does it, it's good and no matter what the other team does, it's bad"

[–] NotLemming@lemm.ee 6 points 5 hours ago

Yep. It works exactly like cheating in sport. I know football fans who will want the harshest penalties for cheating in the opposite team, while just laughing and shrugging if someone in their team does the same thing or even worse. .

In this case, I kind suspect its an issue of saving face. They don't want to admit that the team they supported are doing bad things, because it would admit being wrong. But until it starts to serious hurt them directly, they won't care. Of course the current administration is actively trying to harm them, but I can't imagine them admitting it until well after it happens...

For conservatives, their team is morally good so can do no bad. The other team is morally bad so can do no good. And the law is there to punish the bad people. The end result is selective enforcement of rules and laws against certain minorities.

Trump all over this. MAGA won't care

[–] JoYo@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 hours ago

is that not the same person? i can hear the over exaggerated drawl from here.

[–] eran_morad@lemmy.world 18 points 8 hours ago

Probably spoon-fed to them by the blyats.

The "DECLASSIFIED" watermark on the cover is just the cherry in top.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Real declassified documents will have a "secret" or "top secret" mark on the cover and on every page that is struck out, redacted, or otherwise obliterated.

[–] JoYo@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 hours ago

it depends, recent documents will have a date of classification and expiration. it also depends on which agency did the classification because ODNI is toothless.

ive never seen a FOIA request answered with crossed out portion marks.

Is there anything new in this release that we didn't know years ago from the last one?

[–] Mog_fanatic@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

He's already said that he will not release this information. I'm not sure why this is surprising anyone. They're releasing stuff that was already out there. None of this is new and there won't be anything new at least until the next administration if ever.

[–] glimse@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

Oh I'm not surprised at all, I just wanted to call it out.

[–] A_Very_Big_Fan@lemmy.world 12 points 7 hours ago

Mark my words, there will be absolutely nothing that implicates anyone in power. At least not for the next four years.

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 8 points 7 hours ago

So far, not a single thing.
