Americans, are your 401k plans missing Kamala Harris right now? Are your grocery bills yearning for what could have been?

Say what you will about a lousy, Biden-esque campaign, rag on the DNC for taking Ls all day, but allow her some vindication for telling everyone exactly what we were "going back" to by electing Trump.

[–] threeduck@aussie.zone 19 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Man the headline quote is "I told you so", but the quote from her is ACTUALLY "I'm not here to say I told you so".

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 6 points 10 hours ago

"I'm not here to say I told you so" is just how you passive-aggressively say "I told you so".

[–] molten@lemmy.world 33 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Look. I voted for her. But she needs to either start doing something besides attending summits and "not saying I told you so" or just fade into the background. She's gonna run again. She needs to actually nut up. Bernie and AOC are doing something. Cory Booker is trying to do something. She really hasn't.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 4 points 11 hours ago

She's doing exactly what the party can, which is not much. This is what we'd want the GOP to be able to do if their felon rapist candidate lost.

Aside from grandstanding for 25 hours to remove a white bigot's name from the record (if he was still a bigot when he made that record; he evolved as a person over time) and talking about stuff, Rep Booker did nothing substantive. Be clear on that as just some performance art.

There is a lot of work to be done, but admitting a few things is important to establish where we are:

  • voting third party was just what Russia paid for and worked well for them but not America
  • gerrymandering was huge
  • Dems are hogtied. Stop expecting salvation from the people America resoundingly fired.
  • not voting an accomplished prosecutor and experienced leader, over a felon with no ability (at anything), is 100% the fault of voters

Start from a position of honesty.

We really really REALLY don't need Kamala doing a Hillary Clinton. Neoliberalism is dying, no one wants the ideology anymore, give it up.

[–] Wuorg@50501.chat 16 points 21 hours ago

It is so deeply frustrating. This just tells me the Dems are continuing to learn the wrong lesson.

They're asking "why didn't anyone listen to us?" instead of "why didn't enough people vote for us despite listening to us?"

I voted for Kamala, because obviously, but they are continuing to underestimate how much people hate, despise, the Democratic establishment. Delusional old fucks.

You're kind of right about Americans. About 40% want a unrestrained capitalism in a Christian theocracy. About 35% want neo-liberalism. The remaining 25% are divided into 100 different camps with slightly different ideologies they believe so strongly in that they refuse to compromise with anyone. So the 40% win and we get Trump instead and a neat trip back to 1910.

Out of all the people, Honestly Tim Waltz should've been the candidate

[–] 5parky@lemmy.world 11 points 18 hours ago

The Democratic party has proven twice now that they want so badly to have the first woman president that they ignore what their constituents want.

Is that why you went belly up like a beaten cur when you lost, Kamala? So you could say "toldya?" Is that why you just quietly faded away and refused to challenge anything? For a gotcha?

Fuck off, Hilary Jr.

Did you want her to mount an insurrection? She lost the election what did you want her to do? idiots voted for trump or worse, didn’t vote.

[–] enub22@50501.chat -2 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago)

Call for a recount. There was something fishy going on with the Russian bomb threats and ballot burning. Biden was in power at the time, so I don't know why they didn't just call for a recount. Especially when later on after Trump came to office, Election Truth Alliance found evidence that Pennsylvania was tampered.

Wow, just so much fuck you.

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

If she knew this was gonna happen, her campaign should have been a lot more aggressive.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 5 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

all she had to do was acknowledge that what Israel was doing was a genocide about a week before election day and she would be president right now. She made her choice.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 4 points 15 hours ago

Yeah exactly. It’s not fucking hard to win elections in the US. Just say you will do things that are popular with the voters. But the democrats won’t even do that.

[–] TempermentalAnomaly@lemmy.world 4 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

If she knew this would happen, she should have said I'm wrong person for this moment.

[–] riodoro1@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago

You knew and still replaced biden with harris and done so too late.

You helped it happen them.
