She may be right, but HRC can fuck right off. She's part of that center-auth group of democrats that believe that the tools of fascism are good and necessary as long as they're in the hands of enlightened leadership. So, you know, the plan to keep everyone safe from fascism was to just never lose an election ever. We now see how that worked out for us. As long as we have shit like the Patriot act, ICE, and all the other bullshit from the wars on drugs and terror, an eventual authoritarian takeover wasn't a question of if, but of when.

Remember when Hilary and the DNC fucked Bernie because "it's her turn?" Remember when Hilary preferred Trump to Jeb because it was an easier slam dunk?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Fuck. Hilary. Clinton.

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 17 points 3 days ago (3 children)

It kills me, the HRC campaign knew that she was so fucking snakebit that they'd have to run her against an actual clown to have a chance of winning, and they lost to the clown.

And the hubris to try a fucking "i told you so" after? Eat shit, hilldog.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They lost to the clown because clowns are generally charming and likeable. Trump's a POS, but he's the kind of Seinfeld tier stand-up style POS Americans adore.

Jeb Bush was the push over because he had exactly the same amount of charm as Hillary, but none of her personality cult. Hillary just panicked when she saw his college GPA or some dumb on-paper shit and forget this wasn't an election you win by sucking up hardest to Teacher.

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 4 points 3 days ago

That's fair, I think. I really hope the Hillary team find gainful employment outside politics and never get another chance to fuck up another election.

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Even I could not vote for HRC, I didn't vote in that one.

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I was going to vote for Johnson (I live in Cali, so, whatever) but my SO promised to be extremely pissed at me if I voted for Johnson and Trump won. Johnson got a lot of grief for the Aleppo gaffe (meanwhile you had Trump increasing the shit/air density every time he opened his mouth) but he was IRL an extremely reasonable candidate and an extremely reasonable platform compared to the alternatives.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

I've met Johnson in person and I'm afraid to say he's the exact same business conservative politician you get all over the Southwest, with a libertarian veneer to match.

All he cares about is deregulation as a panacea and tax cuts as a corporate bailout. You'd very likely see the same kind of DOGE cuts and tariffs we're getting today, if we'd lived under a 2017 Johnson presidency.

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 3 points 3 days ago

Ah. That's very disappointing to hear. Thank you!

People also warned her she would put Trump in the office the first time by eliminating Sanders for her own profit, so...

[–] GaMEChld@lemmy.world 22 points 4 days ago

Even with this post she makes it about her and what SHE warned us about. It feels like the same energy as the "I'm with HER" campaigning she was doing in 2016.

The same person who frustratingly joked about why the US can't drone bomb foreign nationals to solve a whistleblower problem.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Okay, but that's when she had her hand on the trigger. How could Americans have given this power to someone Not Her?!

[–] KelvarIW@lemmy.blahaj.zone 75 points 4 days ago (1 children)

She also caused this by pushing Bernie's campaign into the ground and using "pied piper" tactics to propel the Trump campaign through the primary. She had no business running for office in 2016. She represented nothing that drew America to Obama, and her ties to Bill Clinton and her own failures as a politician made her a repulsive choice. Okay "Hillary Rodham Clinton", what do you think America should do? I'm certain she won't say what we're all thinking.

[–] DontRedditMyLemmy@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What are pied piper tactics?

[–] Sparkega@sh.itjust.works 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm assuming it means to make Trump more appealing over other candidates to Republicans during their primary so he was the front runner. How she did that, I'm not sure.

[–] KelvarIW@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 3 days ago

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/11/hillary-clinton-2016-donald-trump-214428/ this article covers it. Exactly what Sparkega said Quote: Eleven days after [Trump's] comments about McCain, Clinton aides sought to push the plan even further: An agenda item for top aides’ message planning meeting read, “How do we prevent [Jeb] Bush from bettering himself/how do we maximize Trump and others?"

[–] demizerone@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

People that lose elections to Donald fucking trump should fuck off. Except Tim Walz. Democrats wasted him.

Are you standing up? No?

Then lock your mansion door and shut the fuck up.

[–] MITM0@lemmy.world 20 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Hillary, you of all people😂 You fucking war-monger have no moral high-ground.

You literally helped Trump get elected

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 32 points 5 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

An old man walks up to a newsstand. He buys a newspaper, looks at the front-page and throws it right into the trash-can next to the stand. The next day, he does the same: He buys a newspaper, looks at the front-page and throws it into the trash. And the next day he does the same. And the next, and the next.

Eventually, the sales-guy asks the man why he keeps doing that: Buying a newspaper, looking at the front and throwing it away.

"I'm just looking for an obituary."

"But obituaries are not on the front-page!"

"The one I'm looking for will be."

I understand this man.

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 15 points 4 days ago (1 children)

hate that libs have to reframe it as "it could happen to you" because "It is happening to people" isn't enough.

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 6 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I re-frame it as such because

  1. Life experience has taught me that a lot of people suck at risk assessment. There's a lot of people who inappropriately believe that it can't happen to them for no other reason than they believe that they won't roll a 1. In this regard, it's a wake-up call that people have a tangible self-interest in defending others.

  2. A shocking amount of people have an acute lack of empathy for strangers, and have a hard time putting themselves in other people's shoes. This is an invitation to imagine what's happening to others by imagining it happening to them.

Warned yet failed to stop any of these events, thanks for nothing.

[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

When she stands up for something maybe I’ll stand up too. Is she at any protests? No. Just slscktivism.

She’s no better than I am.

[–] al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com 12 points 4 days ago

Worse at least you have never had any power or meaningful political connection to change diddly squat. Fuck this bitch. She warned us to beware of home invasions then told the robbers when we wouldn't be home.

[–] Brainsploosh@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

But... you voted her not to?

Seems like a copium take to first vote her out of implementing her ideas, then blame her for not implementing them.

Even more so when they guy who was voted in implements stuff he said we would but that you now don't like.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 15 points 4 days ago

Seems like a copium take to first vote her out of implementing her ideas, then blame her for not implementing them.

They're blaming her for having shitty ideas that couldn't compete with Trump and yet running for the primaries (which she won because of her money, not her platform, to be clear).

[–] JokeDeity@lemm.ee 3 points 4 days ago

This statement is correct even if she's a bad person herself.

since we're already doing it can we ship hillary to el salvador please
