a little while back YT rebalanced their algorithm to give more weight to people with less that like 100k or something subs. Since then, I have been getting a LOT more suggestions for channels with anywhere from like single digit subs, to like 25k. Get a couple a day now. Some of it is really strange.
I watched (listened) to Linken Park songs and ended up at mr. pimple popper huge pimple exploding and some asians with blurry faces popping it.

That’s TikTok now. That’s where regular people making videos seemingly went.
I wish there was a Firefox extension that made youtubes sidebar work how it used to.
Algorithmic recommendations happen on the backend, so no chance of that unfortunately

It's still there is the recommendation process from YouTube is not gears to small tine creators.
That's how I ended up seeing Faces of Death for the first time. I didn't run with the right crowds for anyone to sneak a VHS to a sleepover in a Disney movie box.
Wasn't this the catalyst for the "YouTube at 3am" meme
