Finish the paper, or don't, the outcome is the same. You don't have to worry about the paper anymore. Which is what really matters here.

The second way is easier.

I can still remember the dread and the moment you cave and just say "whatever I won't do it" because you're exhausted before starting it. School without medication was hell

I relate. Dread every day.

My answer was to draw and read scifi all day. Let my grades slide. Ignore everything.

I graduated because... I dunno. I think they just wanted me out of there.

It was unfortunate to learn that work did not have the concept of semesters and you couldn't just write off an assignment from your boss as 'well I'll get a zero from that one, but there's always next semester'. They just keep bugging you about it over and over even though clearly I've moved on already.

Semesters were a much easier 'reset' than getting fired was.

Society is insane. Gotta deal with that somehow.

I'm a rural carpenter. I fly under all radar.

Say it with me: "hitting 120 WPM on Monkeytype won't make me more productive"

No joke, before (can also say instead of) submitting my thesis, I literally learnt touch typing

The formatting on my PhD dissertation was flawless. Fonts, colors, layout, immaculate.

Sure, I never finished it, but the 3 months I spent dialing in every setting in every buried menu of MS Word was time well spent.

The number of people in college that didn't know Office has built-in citation management boggled me. Or how tab stops work. Or how to use fricking styles and page templates instead of setting everything manually (that one goes for PowerPoint as well).

...then again, most of them used Google Docs. sigh

When you're bent over on all fours trying to get a word to stay in an /mbox for hours, it turns more into sadism

Underfull \hbox (badness 10000)
