Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

Both don’t know the law.

"Next time, show some respect."

Nah, fuck you.

Cop immediately starts lying to his supervisor. FTP

[–] atlien51@lemm.ee 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah what’s up with cops doing that? So much for protecting and SERVING the public.

Really more of a privileged little brotherhood than anything. I bet when they look at the general public all they see is them & us.

So much for protecting and SERVING the public.

It was literally never about that.

[–] atlien51@lemm.ee 3 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Oh they absolutely tried to pass it off as that, that was their motto at one point! So that’s definitely the illusion they were trying to give.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

The LAPD did. Biggest scam ever.

Old motto: protect and serve.

New motto: Stfu & obey.

Protect and serve who, though?

I like the South Park version:

To Harass And Annoy

Seriously. What I have seen in literally every one of these body cam recordings is the second the supervisor or backup arrives on scene, they immediately lie through their teeth about what happened.

If that cop had done exactly what he told the next cop he would do, this would have been a non-issue. He could have given him a ticket for each thing and made him park and walk to the DMV, and Ice-T would have parked, got his stuff in order, and paid the ticket. He only got upset once the cop said he was going to two the car, which I understand. The likelihood of his car getting damaged (not to mention the additional hassle of getting it out of impound) would have been very frustrating.

Law & Order Star

From "Cop Killer" to "Cop Actor"

Cop persuader, but his persuasion skill is like 5/100

"Right now my job is eating these donuts."

How far he has fallen since his Body Count/Faith No More days.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I can confirm that was pretty mildly interesting given the potential it had.

[–] metallic_substance@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, very mild indeed. Almost too mild 🤨

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago

Kind of like Ice-T

What an idiot officer and a cool sheriff. Writing 4 tickets out of spite to someone, who was voluntarily already trying to fix their mistakes.

[–] jonathan@piefed.social 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He had the car parked up because the registration expired. wtf is he doing driving before he fixed that? No way that dude had the car parked up for 3 years and owns no other cars.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

He said he owns 7 cars. Who knows why he didn't use a different car to do this.

Edit. Also, at the end the cop says he was going to let him park the car with no tickets served. He was absolutely not going to do that at the time. He wanted to tow the car.

[–] running_ragged@lemmy.ca 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I have a hard time believing the story Ice-T has.

His licence, and insurances had been expired for years, and just now, this one time he was going to get it renewed he got pulled over? This sounds exactly like a ready made lie that has been used and reused over the years.

If I was the cop, I'd probably be pissed off that I'd been lied to with such an obvious BS story.

Then Ice-T gets out of the car, demands his papers back and approaches the cop? I live in Canada, and I know you don't get out of the car during a traffic stop unless you're invited to.

[–] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I agree. Fuck the police, but Ice is full of shit too.

You’ve got 7 cars but your license is 3 years out of date? Dude, you’re a millionaire just go pay that shit or send someone to do it for you.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 1 points 10 hours ago

Im honestly surprised he never said do you know who i am.

[–] jumjummy@lemmy.world 7 points 20 hours ago

Yeah, no surprise the cop lied. He said he was going to tow the vehicle BEFORE he was called an asshole and before Ice-T got out of the car.

Fuck that cop for needlessly escalating. “This is serious”.. bullshit. It’s expired paperwork, not a suspended license for a DUI or something like that.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 8 points 1 day ago

Do you know who I am? Yeah in the series. Oh. How about in real life?
