Just to clarify, this doesn’t mean that the game is now DRM free. They just replaced it with Enigma. I’m not up to date with what Enigma does differently but it might be important to some.

This is a good callout. If enigma is still an always online DRM that's still a dealbreaker for me. Will have to check

I still find it crazy that they even bother with this nonsense nowadays. Piracy used to absolutely rampant. Everyone was doing it and there wasn’t any shame in it at all. I’ve haven’t heard of anyone pirating a game IRL in years apart from old games that can’t be purchased anymore.

If there is a AAAA title I need to play, I'll pirate it, because fuck investors coming to this space and ruining it for everyone. However, this remains hypothetical since one has never come along that I'd rather play than the games I buy from actual human beings.

I do wonder what the numbers are as far as piracy goes. I feel like it has to be a really low number. Honestly the biggest thing that I feel helps against piracy is continual and useful updates. Typically scene releases get an initial update near the release and thats it. Then if you pirate the game you are missing out on years of performance increases, bug fixes, and more

Updating pirated games has been possible for years, also unlocking DLC and pre-release content.
The only thing that can't be done is playing in official servers (for obvious reasons).

You might wish to check out the piracy community. Sailing the high seas is alive and well.

Not shocking considerimg Denuvo is an ongoing cost (IIRC) and Kunitsu is over the hump of the majority of its sales.

Truly fantastic game, and quite possibly the most underrated game of 2024. Can consider buying it now

will wait for a sale on steam. i heard it'S a hidden gem but since it came with denuvo it's going in the "wait for a deep discount" list

I've recently transitioned to Linux. I've anyways steered clear off kernel level anti cheats for obvious reasons. How do these work on Linux if the game enables it for Linux? Is it still as invasive as Windows and does it still remain installed after uninstalling the game?
