Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

I mean, she literally said the Epstein files are on her desk.

I mean last month, she said they weren't real. But also they're on her desk. Because facts over feelings or some bullshit.

“BREAKING NEWS: Trump renames the Moon ‘The Boob’ because STOP TALKING ABOUT EPSTEIN!!!

Is Rupert Murdoch trying to take Trump down before he kicks it? I'm under the impression they are (were?) allies of convenience and didn't have a lot of love for each other. I can't think of why else the Wall Street Journal of all newspapers would be going after this story so hard.

[–] SpaceCowboy@lemmy.ca 7 points 6 days ago

Likely whoever is leaking the documents reached out to the WSJ since they'd have more cred in right wing circles. If the WSJ buried it, then the leaker would take it to another newspaper the story would still go out. Only difference would be the WSJ and Rupert Murdoch would be complicit in Trump's cover up.

So it's probably less Murdoch betraying Trump and more not wanting to go down with him. Plus it sells newspapers and Murdoch likes making money more than anything else.

I’m under the impression they are (were?) allies of convenience and didn’t have a lot of love for each other.

This goes for almost all of the loosely affiliated right-wing organizations currently under the umbrella of the administration. It's our best bet for the future; drive a wedge between them, make them fight each other rather than us. Use their own tactics against them. Cfr the Trump-Musk feud. There'll be others. There's also the succession war in Murdoch's circle. He's still fighting against his sons (who may legitimately be even more batshit than he is). It must be so frustrating for someone like him to 'build an empire' and see it being divided before their death.

They should make an adaptation of the Shakespeare play, but call it King Leer because of all the sexual harassment.

The Orange Poo Smear doesn’t have friends. He’s a narcissist. That’s very thin ice for any type of relationship. As we saw with nearly his entire first term administration, people that get to know him learn to hate him quickly. This goes double for billionaires like Murdoch who are used to always getting their way.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He had at least one friend, though, the one with the private island who hooked him up at parties....

Everyday was a wonderful secret!

[–] bigbabybilly@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He knew he was in there because he was raping children with other child rapists. Unless his dementia is helping him forget.

[–] DaTingGoBrrr@lemmy.ml 4 points 6 days ago

Exactly 😂 this is not news to him

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Shouldn’t have raped kids.

Rupert Murdoch's WSJ Reports Trump Knows His Name Is Listed in Epstein Files—Because Bondi Told Him

Well Donald, this is what you gwt for fucking with the guy who paved the way for your presidency.

You may want to reflect on what went down at that secret meeting between Rupert, and your Oh So Loyal JD Vance.

He thinks the golden rule is that one where you bite the hand that feeds. Also, all the other hands.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

He likely thinks the Golden Rule is “do unto others.” Although he could be getting it confused with golden showers.
