Five Guys is the only one I would be okay with. McDonalds is probably the worse, followed by wendys being 2nd worst. BurgerKing is... um... its like good for like your first try, then subsequent times it taste worse and worse each time you got there.

I don't eat a lot of burgers so I probably don't know what a "good" burger taste like, I grew up in an Asian household so I don't exactly eat a lot of "western" food for the most of my life (like... relatively speaking, in comparison to the rest of the US).

West coast dude that has visited all over the US. I’ve had BK/McD’s, Whataburger, Jack in the box, In-N-Out, Carl’s Jr, Smashburger, Sonic, Shake Shack, White Castle, Five Guys, A&W, and maybe a couple more I’ve forgotten. Best for me, hands down:

Culver’s butter burger with cheese and everything on it.

[–] DaudAfandi@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Culver’s is the answer.

[–] reddig33@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

None of them? I find it’s worth the extra $2 to go somewhere local or “fast casual”. Places like McDonalds , Wendy’s, and Burger King are overpriced garbage these days.

Also it doesn't take much longer to make a burger at home. I get that cleanup can take some time, and a lot of folks are averse to deep frying at home. But if I want a burger and fries, nine times out of ten I'm going to make it myself.

I'm also a line cook so I probably enjoy cooking more than most folks

Nando's' double cheese and bacon burger with added pineapple and hot basting

When I was a kid my dad would take us to Halo Burger in the Flint, Michigan area once in a while. Haven't gone in decades, since I grew up and moved away from the state. Something about how the burger was seasoned, just delicious. Nowadays I usually stop by Culver's for a double deluxe, now that there's one not far from the house (did earlier today, actually).

Everyone keeps saying culver's and my Canadian ass is so curious

[–] IWW4@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

Fatburger, but the only one that was in my area closed down.

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Only one I can eat, impossible whopper. I wish they would go all in and use the superior black bean burger instead tho

When McDonald's gets an equivalent, they're going to make so much money off of me

There's a regional chain in LA called Tom's Jr. It offered unbeatable value like its Big Mac clone that went for $3.50 until they very recently bumped the price up to $5 each.

The kebab shop down the road makes burgers too and they're better than everything I've had from one of the large chains while still distinctly feeling like junk food.

I don't remember the last time I had a fast food burger. And I would like to keep it that way. Thank you.

[–] TheReanuKeeves@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

You know you want to

[–] janus2@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

BK Impossible with no mayo

[–] inb4_FoundTheVegan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If I have to pick a burger, then same! But if we're talking vegan fast food options than my first choice is always gonna be fresco style burritos at 🌮 🔔

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 days ago

I miss the fiesta veggie burrito so much

[–] janus2@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

[–] ileftreddit@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

There's something about McDonald's paper thin patties, greasy buns, and rehydrated onions that really hits the spot

[–] 6stringringer@lemmy.zip 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I think there is a window of perfection for peak enjoyment. Your description is spot on. It’s purely a McD’s sensory experience.

[–] TheReanuKeeves@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Ya I don't know what it is, but even walking past a McDonald's and sniffing their unique brand of grease will get my mouth watering. They must put a little heroin or something in there.

Double teen burger from A&W.

Has enough meat with the double patty, and has all the toppings like onion, pickle, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, etc.

[–] sugarfoot00@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 days ago

You have to specify A&W Canada. The US doesn't have Teen burgers and they're generally inferior.

[–] distantsounds@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

small Cheval for regional chain & Culver’s for national.

[–] TheReanuKeeves@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Do they make horse burgers??

[–] distantsounds@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Horse meat is good and as much controversial. Thankfully they just use dmf cows

Edit: dmf cows = dumb motherfucking cows

[–] TheReanuKeeves@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

I've seen videos of horse sashimi in Japan and I'm not totally against trying it

Sweden has a hamburger chain named 'Mr York' and they are amazing!

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Best I've cooked: Oklahoma onion burgers

Best I've bought: green chilli burger from Meat Liquor Covent Garden though sadly they don't seem to have that location any more and the green chilli burger is no longer on their menu!
