PORNHUB

It's Pornhub, like https://pornhub.com/. One of the biggest (if not the biggest) porn site on the planet, used by millions if not billions. There is nothing wrong with watching porn if you feel like it. What you do in your own home is your own business. Just don't wank too much, or you are going to have health issues. Which are also totally normal and you should just go talk to your doctor, they will not be surprised or shocked, it is literally their job to deal with stuff like that.

I feel the world is going crazy. Shoving all of this stuff under the carpet isn't helping anyone and won't make it go away. Half of the time I can't understand my young niece and nephew because they speak in this code language, evolving all the time so they can talk about normal stuff young people talk about and stay ahead of the big censor machine. And often it's censored so poorly, everyone can still read it, like what was the point then?

[–] skrlet13@feddit.cl 69 points 3 days ago

These censoring systems are made for advertisers. The point is to keep ads on.

But more content is more engagement, critical for a lot of social media. So they do the bare minimum to censor. Kinda like "malicious compliance"? idk, ojos que no ven corazón que no siente

Kyll is a beautiful little stream in Germany.

[–] ramjambamalam@lemmy.ca 21 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Wow, I'd love to Kyll myself on a hot, summer's day!

[–] Gloomy@mander.xyz 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You might even use that opportunity and go on a Kylling spree.

Seggs, unalive, grape

I've also seen people use peach for porn. Why are advertisers such puritans?

[–] ramjambamalam@lemmy.ca 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I guess not too different from pr0n, h4x, etc. Maybe a tale as old as time?

Censoring "porn" with a black asshole?

A man of class and style, I see.

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 47 points 3 days ago

The elusive Chocolate Starfish.

FFmpeg doesn't deserve to be such a tiny block. Nothing else comes close to matching its stability and simplicity. There's a reason it's practically part of the foundation for all media software out there.

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago

Tiny block in the grand scheme of things.
This picture doesnt work if you replace the stick with the huge boulder.

Maybe if you visualize it as the foundation of a building.
Then it makes sense.

[–] greplinux@programming.dev 6 points 2 days ago

Absolutely - very powerful and capable, even just from the Linux command line.

I like how this implies Twitter storage is encoded in YouTube videos which are really just hosted on PornHub.

If I'm gonna see one more censored image I swear I will scream silently in my head

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 46 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Self-censorship is the worse censorship.

Pornhub being the foundation of the internet may be seen as controversial by some.

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 35 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (5 children)

Maybe not specifically PH but porn actually always was the driving force for the net since day 1. We don't have high speed net now because someone needed to download a linux-distro quicker. Or google harder. YouTube and vimeo and such came waaaaaaay later. There also were no social media where people needed to upload large dog-pics. It was porn. Everyone wanted their tits to download NOW not somewhere in the future.

And I vividly remember the times where you had to wait for a long while to see your image grow line by line until you finally maybe saw said tit, and it surely - and hopefully - wasn't a bird 😁

I have no studies at hand but I'd bet part of my left nut on that theory. Hence I found that image concluding.

Porn is not a bad word. People need to learn how to edit images for the sake of uncensoring shit if nothing else

I'm actually amazed by how the Pornhub and Xvideos players, after all this time, are still better than the Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, and TikTok players, like it's not even comparable. The way people can just accept whatever slop any corporate will feed them is just insane to me...

[–] serenissi@lemmy.world 33 points 3 days ago (2 children)

youtube and facebook runs on pornhub. well said

[–] RmDebArc_5@piefed.zip 25 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Well, video streaming was AFAIK pioneered by porn sites, though not necessarily pornhub, but it could be seen as a representative

Though FFmpeg is not really a project 'thanklessly maintained by one person' (anymore).

[–] javiwhite@feddit.uk 26 points 3 days ago (3 children)

I like the implication that pornhub is the foundation upon which all social media was born.

The Internet was made for it ig.

Unironically true actually, ffmpeg is everywhere in the video space

[–] Ofiuco@piefed.ca 14 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Why do people not remake or edit the censorship out of the memes? I usually do that because fuck advertisers and I'm not posting them on those shitty sites

Can we PLEASE make ffmpeg use GPL for everything?

Actually, can we do that for just all open source software. I'm getting kinda tired of large multinationals using open source for free to make billions over billions and then give back a dollar or so for each of those...

Maybe there are exceptions here and there but most companies give back shit
