I'm sure the conch sleeps very well after...

When I was a kid i grew up on a small farm, and we used to blow a conch shell to let everyone know it was meal time.

Is there a trick to it? I remember trying once as a kid and getting basically nothing.

It’s very similar to playing a brass instrument, basically like a bugle. The easiest way to explain it is that you kind of make “raspberries” with just your lips.

It has been a while since I did it regularly, but from what I remember you blow raspberries, without sticking out your tongue. There was a bit of getting your lips in the proper form.

I used to practice after school while everyone was at work, sometimes I would sit on the living room couch watching after school cartoons and practice the conch during commercials.

Does this pleasure the raspberries?

No. The raspberries want you to stick your tongue out while you blow them.

Also woodwind instruments.

Yeah, it makes sense to train the body to maintain the airway, so I bet any kind of wind instrument or even singing would help.

My former pulmonologist actually recommended karaoke for me to help keep the airways strong and open.
