Blue states need to unleash their national guard in their own cities, but help the homeless, feed at soup kitchens, feed kids at school. Show who really cares for the people.

If blue states cared, these wouldn't be issues they're dealing with in the first place, much less would there be any need to deploy the national guard to solve them. Blue states are blue due to NIMBY democrats, not progressives. My prediction is, once the republican party has fully rotted away (likely in response to a crisis coming to a head), NIMBY democrats and more centrist MAGA will make up the center-right conservatives. It's where the wealth will be concentrated.
Turns out, deploying the military to address systemic issues is never a good choice. We need to be figuring out how to employ democracy to solve these issues.
Show who really cares for the people.
Yeah that's why they're never gonna do it, because the Democrats don't care either and they know no one in power does. We won't feed the homeless, we won't feed kids at school, but we will fund the wars.
They had four years recently and generations of power previously to nip these issues in the bud. It's intentional. The Democrats like the violence.
The child-murdering machine cannot and should not be reformed. It should be destroyed.
You ok? Or just troll account. Too difficult to tell nowadays
I'm not a troll account. I'm just sick of good people getting played over and over again by the Democratic Party and liberalism on the whole.
But the moral prohibition on siding with any administration that endorses genocide will force a different flavor of the exact same logic that centrist liberalism has depended on for so long: hold your nose and align with the least worst thing. Only the least worst thing will no longer be the mild, ethics-agnostic emptiness of modern Western liberalism, nor will it be the multitude of barbaric authoritarians and their secret prisons. It will be communal solidarity, or else nothing, a walking away from all of this.
...
Of all the epitaphs that may one day be written on the gravestone of Western liberalism, the most damning is this: Faced off against a nihilistic, endlessly cruel manifestation of conservatism, and somehow managed to make it close.
— Omar El Akkad, One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This, Chapter 7, Lesser Evils; italic emphases his, bold emphasis mine.
The previous passages were about the Gaza genocide in particular, but for me personally, they apply equally well to the Epstein files, the climate crisis, police brutality, and a whole host of other issues where the Democrats are just a "woke-coded" version of obstructing progress.
Like for Christ's sake if the people who wrote Saturday morning children's cartoons made the villains as evil as American politicians actually are, we would have laughed at how corny the writing was. And obviously the Republicans are making things worse at record pace, but none of that seriously changed when the Democrats were in control last time or the time before that (Obama) or the time before that (Clinton, who's an Epstein associate!), even when they had control of all three branches of the federal government.
So forgive me for being irritated, forgive me for being spirited, but I don't know how people can look at American politics in 2025 and be like "It's literally trolling to be so disgusted by the Monster Party System that you don't want to have anything to do with it." They're all monsters, and I'm tired of pretending they're not.
Every school kid in my blue state can get lunch for free.
I mean there were concerns that the California national guard wasn't going to be available to prepare for wildfire season, so I assume at least that is one good thing they do for the community.
I feel like it’s less calculated and more just punishment for people talking about Epstein generally. If he goes down he’s gonna try to take us with him.
I definitely wouldn't call it calculated. More like a desperate attempt to show force and remind people how much power he has.
As if anybody needs to be reminded he should not be in any position of authority. People like that can't understand that the harder they try to crack down, the more the weakness in their leadership shows. They don't know any other strategy other than to keep doubling down until somebody forces them to stop.
I live in a 'town' of less than 300 people in the mountains.
Some dude on my dirt road hill has a big fancy gate with all these warning signs "FUCK AROUND AND FIND OUT, PRIVATE PROPERTY, KEEP OUT".
Like dude, I'm way more afraid of the guy with no running water who built his outhouse on the front lawn and walks to it naked every day to shit, even in like -20°F. No one's afraid of your alcoholic paranoid ass.
It's kinda the same principal as a small animal puffing itself up in a fight sure it could do damage but it's still relatively harmless compared to the proper threat. The big threat isn't the guy making himself look tough, it's the dude who is currently trying to become one with the wallpaper at all times.
It's absolutely calculated, this was in project 2025. They told us they were going to do it and we still elected them
Still don't want to release those Epstein files eyyy?
Interesting. When they show up from rural W. Virginia to Washington D.C., it might be a culture shock, and some might not want to go back.
So West Virginia, South Carolina, and Ohio are currently more vulnerable. Noted.
