I have watched Bleach till episode 141. And many things are annoying me. Bleach is disappointing me so much. Firstly, The MC gets cooked at the beginning of every single battle he gets into. Secondly, this anime has romance. Thirdly, they shipped Ichigo with Orihime. Fourthly, I understand that Orihime tries to help her friends & Ichigo but she ends up being a burden or creating more trouble. The only thing she is good at is healing. She's absolutely useless in battle.

About the third one, if the author was gonna ship Ichigo with Orihime, then why would you even do all this drama between Rukia & Ichigo??? I think the author planned from the very start of the series that he was gonna ship Ichigo with Rukia but then later changed his plan and shipped him with Orihime. I mean why did he change his plan, man? 😭😭 Just stick with the first one!

In light of the end of this post being Ichigo x Rukia shipping, I can't take your second point seriously. You don't dislike romance, you dislike Orihime.

My hate for romance has been going on for the past few years so nothing new. I hate romance so much that I kinda get disappointed even if I see a little bit of romance in the anime. I didn't necessarily hate Orihime from the start. She is a good character. But the way the anime handled Orihime made me hate the character. I'm watching the anime to watch Ichigo's journey and his character development not Orihime. Suppose, I'm watching the anime and many fights are going on, Ichigo and other characters are having battle with their opponent. And Orihime is out there crying and being emotionally vulnerable in middle of all other characters fighting their opponents. This annoyed me and made me hate her little by little

But you can't say you dislike romance, then say you want Ichigo to be with Rukia. That's a blatant contradiction.

Seems like I forgot to include a very important part in the post. I just noticed that I didn't add it. The thing is, I would rather have no romance in Bleach but cuz of the author, I don't think it's possible. So I would rather ship Rukia with Ichigo rather than Ichigo and Orihime. But if possible, it would be even better if there is no romance at all

Honestly my main issue with Bleach is the same as any other long running series. Everything is super stretched out. It feels like the show tries to waste as much of your time as possible.
That being said I still find the whole series way better than Naruto or even newer series like Boku no Hero Academia.
Romance in shounen anime is often bad. (The only battle anime that has perfect romance is inmho Kaguya-sama)
As a romance expert I can tell that romance in Bleach is clearly only done for the purpose of a happy family ending.
Personally I find it boring although I don't mind it. Just like in real life, romance is illogical and it's everywhere, you can't avoid it.

If I recall correctly, Bleach was even more stretched out than the average. The anime was being produced so fast that the (unfinished, at the time) manga couldn't keep pace, and they ended up shoehorning in a lot of anime-original material, which, however, couldn't be allowed to advance the main plot or contribute any real character development, lest it contradict the later manga.

Back in the day every long running series had a filler (Gintoki explains it the best) episodes. These episodes can be a funny break from the main plot at best and unwatchable garbage at worst. In Bleach they were just boring imo excluding a few comedy ones where they focused more on background characters. But even if you skip filler, every arc, every fight feels so stretched out.

Filler episodes, yes. Bleach had filler seasons running to 20+ consecutive episodes, which, while not quite unheard-of, has never been common, either.

If I remember correctly, it takes a looooong time for them to understand what Orihime's ability actually is (not healing, although it can be used for that). Once that happens, she becomes more useful. My recollections are vague, howeverβ€”I watched Bleach up to a bit past ep. 300 when it first aired, then dropped it after they'd finally dealt with [spoiler]-the-big-bad and never bothered returning for subsequent material or a rewatch.

Lol, I had the same reaction with the ships. I do think he wanted to fan the flames and make his fans a little bit mad. Kubo Tite is like the master of trolling..

About the Ichigo/Rukia shipping, they have better chemistry. At the time, I thought it was never going to be romantically canon because it's a human/shinigami ship.

Short for relationship, I think.

People in fandoms often ship their favourite pairs.

[–] pir8t0x@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

In this context, "shipped" comes from the word "relationship" and is slang used mostly in fan communities or casual conversation. It means that someone supports or wants two people to be in a romantic relationship, whether they're real people or fictional characters. [Credits to ChatGPT for this explanation]

I haven't watched bleach in a while (20 years?) but was there any actual romance between Ichigo and orihime?

[–] pir8t0x@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

As of now, I have watched only till episode 150. So far, she only tried to kiss him once, although she didn't kiss him at the end. Orihime dir confess to Ichigo while Ichigo was sleeping. So far, there's no direct response from Ichigo. And I heard that in future episodes of Bleach, Orihime and Ichigo get married. Although, I can't say for sure since It haven't completed Bleach
