In a message posted to X on Monday evening, Carney said that “Canada welcomes President Trump’s historic new Middle East peace plan, and we urge all parties to help it realise its full potential.”

“As the critical next step, Hamas must immediately release all hostages,” the post read. “Canada stands ready to support the sustained, unimpeded, and large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid into and throughout Gaza.”

The weasel also chimed in:

Congratulations to President Trump on negotiating peace in Gaza. It is time for Hamas to end its war against innocent civilians and allow peace for all.

I am so disgusted to be Canadian right now.

So what's the game here? Go all-in so when Israel fails to cooperate, it's easy to pin it on them and apply pressure? Support the plan to halt the immediate crisis and then take up the future of Palestinian self-determination at a later time? The Palestinian Authority seems to be going along with it for now.

The end goal seems to be literally just a return to the "peaceful" apartheid state, except now with an even more weakened population that is less able (and likely more terrified) to fight back. The person quoted in that article is correct: “In fact, this is not a peace plan. It’s a surrender plan. It returns us to times of colonialism.”

I don't believe for a second that Carney gives a fuck about Palestinians or Palestinian statehood. He just wants us to leave him alone about it so he can pretend he (and orange fuck) have done their due diligence.

Perhaps, even likely. What makes me think there's another level to this is that the PA is going along with the plan and Turkey, Qatar and Egypt are urging Hamas to sign it. Maybe there isn't more to it and they also want, as you said about Carney, to get back to peaceful apartheid. But I kinda doubt it because the sitiation in the West Bank is not trending towards peace either. Long term, what most major parties in Israel plan for won't result in peaceful apartheid.

Historic peace plan that doesn't involve the victims of the genocide just a vague "you can't Hamas anymore"

Of course he does.

He was elected to stop Trump from taking over other countries not to cheer him on.

Bring balance to Canada, not leave it in austerity!

It doesn't matter how much you kiss Donnie's ass Mark. He's never going to love you the way he loves Vlad.
