Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online

Then create a life or death scenario with an antagonist who is defined as being able to defeat me.
Set it to humanity's highest point: 1999. Things will get very confusing when they try and break me from the Matrix only to find it we're in the holodeck.
Computer, show me the warp core!
After all the porny sex stuff?
So like ... how private is a holodeck? If the answer is "very", I'm definitely going with sexual fantasies.
Look what happened to Barkley.
Have some fun with a bunch of Boimler clones.
Assuming it will keep running indefinitely without maintenance or upkeep.
Go inside. Create a pseudo Renaissance era theme. (With modern medicine). Program it so my bank account in there won’t ever run out of money. Then never leave. Just keep exploring. Have the holo deck just keep reconfiguring itself to effectively allow me to explore large areas.

Sounds like photorealistic Minecraft. Which sounds cool.
Get out as fast as I can, considering how often stuff goes terribly wrong on one of those...
I'd simulate being on the Enterprise with my space pals and doing fun stuff on the holodeck.
Check out artemis simulator, you can live in the future now
Wow. I'm in the middle of renovating a house, and I now I'm going to have to talk my partner into having a designated Bridge room somewhere...
Lock the door from the inside
See if it will run Doom. Safety settings on, of course.
Then Bad Apple in full realism mode.
First thing? Definitely google what it is and why I have one.
read the user manual
Ah, so that's why people keep getting themselves trapped in there.
I'm going to go fuck myself. 😃
Also: your username cracks me up 🤣
Honestly? The first thought that goes through my head is exactly how strong and responsive the force fields can get. IIRC they can do bullets, as well as the texture and movement of anything normal. So, probably some benchmark involving a bucket of paint I brought in. Start with the paint, then do weird things with the bucket.
