In response to a Facebook post about an upcoming vigil for Kirk, Bushart shared an image of President Donald Trump with the quote, "We have to get over it," which Trump said in January 2024 after a shooting at Iowa's Perry High School. Text added to the image said, "This seems relevant today."
Per the article, there was a Perry County near by that for some reason took that as him saying he would shoot up their school, so they booked him for terroristic threatening... Wild
Some of the memes he posted. The last one is what got him arrested and the the $2mil bond for "threatening a school shooting".
So basically this arrest is bullshit fascist tactics. Got it.

That middle pic is in very poor taste and I audibly gasped a bit but well within his rights to post (not accounting for FB rules), but the last pic is in no way advocating that schools be shot up. What the heck, man? Half of all Facebook and Reddit users are going to jail next, and all of 4chan.
Oh, I didn't even notice what the middle one is. Definitely bad taste and I'm certain it's against FB policy. Showing that around to random people is pretty fucked up. Still, it isn't illegal by any means.

I got questions. What evidence was presented to the judge such that he set this insane bail? Who represented this guy? He had to have had a public defender at the least.
