It’s funny because those things look like they’d make great masturbation sleeves but they don’t.

I literally had this exact discussion about those things with a friend like 3 days ago. Thank you Mr./Mrs./Whatever Fart for making me feel less lonely with my weird thoughts.

It’s like A Tribe Called Quest or A Pimp Named Slickback you say the whole thing not part of it.

Reminded me of these delicious dishes

[–] pseudo@jlai.lu 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Very pretty. Here is my guess of what is in there:

  • red cabbage and rose petales and some undefinied greens
  • carot and fava beans
  • fig and papaya(?)
  • is it avocado and black sesame?
  • idk but it's pretty
  • kiwi and papaya
  • are those tomato slides?
  • there seem to be some grains in it
  • strawberry and pumkin seed
  • red oignon and cherry tomato

Am I right? Which one is your favorite?

Mostly. Strawberry and pumpkin seed. Simple but good

I wish. I'm traveling so only can show references right now

Aren't these summer rolls rather than spring rolls?

[–] zipzoopaboop@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 2 days ago

Usually call them salad rolls

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Indeed they are.

[–] AnimalsDream@slrpnk.net 5 points 3 days ago

Already vegan, but still want to try these.

[–] recklessengagement@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago (2 children)

These do look good... what's the shelf life like, presumably refrigerated?

[–] rollerbang@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

It's probably "eat now or at best within an hour". Helps if doused with lemon or something.

[–] atomicorange@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

The rice paper can get a little soggy and the noodles turn kind of hard/chewy like refrigerated rice. Still edible but definitely much better at room temperature and eaten within a few hours.

They look like I should throw them into bath to make it smell like fruit

[–] toiletobserver@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Nope, but great presentation

[–] Eq0@literature.cafe 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

What are you favorite combos? They look both pretty and delicious!

[–] lunatique@lemmy.ml 9 points 3 days ago

One's with avocado in it, and I'm a fan of strawberries. I want people to eat more flowers. In the west this is rare.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

These are beautiful and look tasty.

[–] Qkall@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

i could see this being insanely good with sticky rice dessert as the replacement for noodles.

[–] lunatique@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 days ago

Make some with the sticky rice. I'm sure you'll enjoy it

[–] xxce2AAb 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They're very pretty. You're... not going to fry those, right?

[–] bigfondue@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They're summer rolls not spring rolls. They are eaten raw.

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Are there autumn roll and winter roll?

[–] mapleseedfall@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Yep thats me and my cat

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago
[–] SW42@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They look delicious! Too bad I gave a mung bean allergy or I would be all over those. Well done!

[–] lunatique@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago

You can substitute the ingredients with anything you want.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago

Everyone of those is visually unappealing. Kind of like they thrown up there.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world -2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The sudden crunchy textures of seeds with the chewy rice paper is off-putting.

[–] lunatique@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago

I'm a texture person too, so certain textures turn me off so I can understand why you might not like that combination.
