Terminator 2 is probably the easiest answer.

Mary Poppins
Alien (if you count the cat)
28 Days Later
Run Lola Run (sorta)
Alien (if you count the cat)
I count Ripley following protocol and refusing to open the airlock for a contaminated crewmate. If Ash hadn't stepped in, the movie would have ended very differently.
Also she defended Burke when the Marines were going to kill him for what he did. I mean she wanted him punished but... Letter of the law here. He was weak, she defended him.
I meant that Jonesy is the weak male that Ripley physically and emotionally protects.
I don't remember much of that movie, but an Aliens / Evil Dead crossover sounds like a lot of fun.
I think that would work best as a comic. The two movies are too different in tone to put on screen.
That's fair, I feel like I could support the project either way.
Jonesy is a good cat
Hunger games
The first Underworld from 2003 is like this, but it's painfully early 2000s. It's from that era when every action movie was ripping of The Matrix as hard as possible.
Pain? No that feeling is wonder.
It is wonderfully early 2000s.
A sadly underappreciated show:
Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles
Easily the best terminator property after the first two. I mean thatβs not a high bar, but i mean it should be held in the same esteem as they are.
I loved it! Binged all day!
Awesome! Be prepared, though: itβll break your heart. They had the story worked out. Was going to be 4 seasons. We got 2.
- Star wars force awakens.
- Tangled
- Mulan
- Transformers
- Avatar (Blue people)
Could probably come up with more.
Alita: Battle Angel i think was like this a bit, but it is maybe not straightforward enough
maybe the no game no life movie , but i dont think that is really what you are looking for
First matrix. Trinity is much more skilled than Neo until the final act.
Similarly - Edge of Tomorrow Emily Blunt is skilled and trains Tom Cruise until he's competent enough to save the world. By the end they're both extremely competent. Only reason Tom Cruise saves the world and not her is due to the timeloops. She'd already done it once.
Firefly original series with Wash + Zoe
Lego Movie
Wanted (2008 film) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanted_(2008_film)
Angelina Jolie carries the protagonist until he can learn to fight on two feet
Not movie, but Powerpuf Girls, Kim Possible, and Totally Spies
Totally Spies
My God, this thread is taking me down the memory trip. Me likey
Steven Universe too!
Shera as well
Any of the Sailormoon movies possibly?
Tuxedo Mask usually gets more into trouble than the heroine herself.
Although I wouldn't actually count him as weak, just weaker.
And it's an old anime series, like starting in the 1990s, with later reboots.
Not a movie but Star Trek Voyager might be something you'll enjoy?
The Long Kiss Goodnight
Aliens. After Gorman's breakdown, all the marines start taking orders from Ripley.
curiously I have seen it with tv shows lately. A good place, hellava boss, and the anime Tougen Anki has like the most extreme version of that I think possible. I feel like I have seen more but can't recall atm.
3000 Years of Longing maybe? Tilda is very caring and acknowledging of her Djinn's needs.
