Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Simultaneously, they will announce a new organization: The MAGA Youth. With uniforms and pledges and no group chats.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 34 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Will they get their own knives and armbands with party symbols?

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 30 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is America

They get AR-15s and maga hats.

[–] oxysis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Baseball caps have been completely ruined by maga. Just like how arm bands were completely ruined by the nazis. Also both are red.

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Eh. The greater punk scene have done a good job of "taking back" armbands over the decades. And baseball caps are fine so long as they aren't red... or camo.

[–] oxysis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 days ago (2 children)

When I see them out in public I am immediately put on edge, especially when they are red. Sure not everyone who wears armbands are wearing the Nazi one, not everyone who wears a baseball cap is a neonazi. But the overlap is undeniable and they are a red flag when I see someone wearing them. Doesn’t matter if it is the one we all despise or not, still puts you on edge.

Most of us balding millennials wear caps, but not because we’re fascist.

[–] NuXCOM_90Percent@lemmy.zip -2 points 3 days ago

You do you.

But personally? Unless it is a red hat or a camo hat, I just... assume anyone in a hat when it isn't raining, on a hiking trail, or at a sporting event is a douche nozzle. But not necessarily a magat.

There's a type of cap that fulfils all the same functions while looking much better. Just search for "mao cap", they are readily available with or without red plastic stars.

And they get to goose-step march too!

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

[–] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 days ago

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

A reminder that they weren't young either, they were 24 to 35 year olds.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

And they'll still be part of the Republican party, and largely still talking to each other in the same way.

[–] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 3 days ago

That is young compared to the rest of the Geriatric Old Pedophiles.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 6 points 3 days ago

"Kids" according to JD V

That’s young for a republican.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

And rebrand as the Texas Young Republicans. They aren't even fake apologizing for the shit they said.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

They'll find another playground and continue playing Nazis, following the footsteps of their idols in the GOP.

Or, as they are no longer kids, just transfer them into the normal GOP circles, where they would be considered young but normal.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

Lol these losers need to be stuffed in a trash can
