These medical torture episodes were always so hard to watch for me. It always felt a little too visceral, even though the tech is super unrealistic. And I mean that entirely as praise.
If it makes you feel uncomfortable like Kai Winn saying "My child" then they're doing their job.
That trauma goes back to my teens in the 90s

Sorry, been running behind all day.
I strained my trapezius after hitting the mat a bit hard while sparing recently. After a few days in constant pain I tried an acupuncturist. The first thing she did was put a few needles in my head and the pain was instantly gone. After a few hours of needles, cupping and electrodes I had a lot less pain and after a day I was fine.
I honestly can't knock it. There's centuries of data to support its effects. Haven't experienced it myself, just making use of the "pseudo science" joke at play.
Oh definitely. A lot of the reasons they have for why it works is total fiction. Would be cool to see some work trying to understand it using the scientific method.
Just poke the part of your brain saying your body hurts until it stops hurting.
