There is a big difference between. Most people who aren’t actively engaged in this type of discourse like you and I, or don’t pay meticulous attention to conservative media outlets, likely don’t know who Kirk is, let alone care.

MLK Jr. got historically important exposure on television with the broadcast of the March on Washington, D.C. This was one of the first civil rights events to be televised. When you have a new medium to disseminate news that for the first time gives you not just the voice but the image of the people involved, I think that has a huge impact. Prior to this, MLK Jr. was a highly respected religious leader.

Most people today, would probably have to seek out non-governmental sides of political discourse, to even know who Kirk is. I have no doubt your average conservative that watches Fox News has been exposed to Kirk, but they likely won’t recall any talking points. He wasn’t in an elected office. Today, that would probably be the only reason any lay person would listen to them.

Someone probably equates the political nature and him being white to what happened to MLK Jr.

I kept thinking of “The Reckoning” the entire episode.

Okay, thank you for mentioning that. I was unaware he was from Puerto Rico.

Honestly, depending on your ethnicity or where you live, touring as a musician in the U.S. these days seems difficult because of that for you and your fans. I don’t get why anyone overseas would want to tour in the U.S. right now.

That song is starting to creep me out.

Is the shooter a person of color? Seriously, ask yourself that. Likely that is the citing factor for someone coming up with fucking bullshit like this. When the shooter is white, the defenders of gun rights will point to mental health. The point I am making is that POC will be a used as a scapegoat to upturn causes in society for their actions while a white person is largely upheld by gun rights advocates as a sign of failure to address mental health.

Then logically one could infer that they would rather die than prevent the senseless violence.

EDIT: I’m not advocating for anyone’s death or praising what occurred. I just wanted to point to how moronic his stance was. Why would anyone say any death from gun violence is okay?

My mind immediately went there.

René famously was unaware of the first VHS release editing back in his scenes. Some versions oddly don’t credit him when a scene is present.

I don’t know if all their songs are parodies, but a majority of these songs are. They are fun to watch. When they are on stage, they sometimes play other covers including “I’m Ready”.

The above photos are for reference. These are the image and recipe from The Star Trek Cookbook by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. My soup was pretty messy. The immersion blender I meant to use was missing, so I resorted to a regular blender. 😅 Not going to do this again without one. The bread isn’t as green as I expected because I didn’t twist it enough. It seemed to me the filling of pesto was too much, making the dough too fragile. At least I tried.

If you are unable to read the text, I’m sure you are wondering who the Norellian are. They come from the DS9 novel “The Big Game”.

So if you aren’t aware from my previous post, I was at STLV last week. Among the various things to do, there were artist doing free face painting and airbrush temporary tattoos. I decided on a temp tat and among them was this image of Tendi from “Strange Energies”.

I liked this so much that I am seriously considering getting a real permanent tattoo of this. On top of that I am thinking about getting it colored.

At STLV today, Frank Aurelio Yokoyama, the mayor of Cerritos, California was in attendance. He gave Dawn Lewis a proclamation for playing Captain Freeman.

This made me cry and I’m still in tears.

EHK: Emergency Harry Kim

When you need to disappoint an Ensign badly.

EDIT: This Hologram had to reinitialized their startup sequence. My badge was misaligned and pip on the wrong side. A kind season two Geordi saw and fixed that.

EDIT 2: Excuse me, can I get someone to fix my caffeine intake subroutine please? I am still not awake. It’s EHK, not EKM.

UPDATE: I was told to go talk to Garrett Wang. I went to his both and introduced my costume. He loved it. He asked for a photo and a video of me explaining it.
