The rule is, when you view the 196 sub, you must post before leaving. Anything.
It's just a shitposting community where the rule is that you have to post something if you visit the community. Notably, the 196 community is disproportionately queer and/or trans, for some reason.
Disproportionately anti communism/fascism too.

Very anti fascist. Tends to be Anti capitalist and pro socialism/communism. Just really hates imperialism and totalitarian countries/regimes which puts the community at odds with any community groups that are particularly pro Russia/China

Yeah I have no idea why someone made a c/195 but it's not really relevant to the topic of where c/196 came from.
They were originally c/196 and renamed after this 196 became wildly more popular to avoid confusion.
