That's the background for the story: Russia sent their convicts to war in trade of a "get out of jail"-card.
The guy was in jail for killing his wife. He took the deal and was sent to war. He got shot, got sent home as a free man, and immediately started killing people again.
It's not a single case. It's likely that convicts are taking the deal, not just to get out of jail, but also so they can go back and get revenge over those that put them in jail in the first place.

It'd be like when you fall asleep on the couch and sleep for two minutes, but the dream seems like it lasted several days, because you dreamt of having memories of things. The brain simply doesn't know the difference between memories of a long dream or a short dream of long memories.
I used to dread leaving the warm shower and getting cold while drying. Then I figured out that if I gradually turn the temperature down while only showering the head, that it both feels refreshing, but not cold, and also makes the entire transition less cold. The key is that the brain gets most of it's idea of temperature from the head.
The same tactic can also be used at the beach. Instead of inching your way into the cold water until the testicles crawl up and you finally give up, you're much better off if you just put the top of your head into the water first.

The beggar behind the Star of David listened to the priest, turned to the other beggar with the cross and said: "Moishe, look who's trying to teach the Goldstein brothers about marketing."
In my latest setup I've chosen to make due with what's available for Linux. I'm not going to bridge Windows VSTs.
So I don't mind the software, I'll use whatever is available, but it was really the hardware issues with Windows that made me switch. I don't want to spend another night trying to make Windows recognise my old controllers, when they all work without any issues in Linux. I need my tools to work too.
It's the other way around. Addicting things like drugs etc. are mimicking or triggering the natural endorphins, which are released in sex.
The reason addicts say that drugs are better than sex is that they do the same thing, but the drugs are 100% successful, easier to obtain and dose.
Sex is an instinct, a naturally born addiction. Sex addiction is a different thing though. That's when people can't control their urges.
Nobody said this had to be easy/everyday things.

A local skatepark held an official opening inviting Rune Glifberg and Nicky Guerrero to do a demo. The weather was tricky, but in between rain they managed to pull off a few tricks in the deep end. I didn't get a good photo of Rune.
