Oh my god it really does say that.

Not even quoting someone. Just blatant editorializing by ABC7 News’s Irene Cruz.

Don’t get your news from TV networks, ever.

The article just doesn’t care to tell you that the syringes were capped.

The Sun helpfully includes that important detail.

The influencer posted clips showing him creeping up on passersby and pretending to jab them with a capped syringe - just days before France’s massive Fête de la Musique street festival in June.

I went looking for the information because I was like “you can kill someone so easy that way, wtf?”

They were capped syringes for the “pranks,” but your point still stands.

What’s worse is that at the time, there were actually a lot of syringe stabbings in France according to this Sun article (it’s the Sun, sorry about that). I was curious so I looked up more articles.

I’m speculating, but maybe people don’t want to beat someone up if they don’t actually get hurt, fearing worse punishment.

I too was a huge NIN fan for a long time. I’ve even met the band!

It’s obvious to me that using the Nine Inch Nails name is a marketing tactic because it’s Tron. It’s “cooler” to have it be Nine Inch Nails because the previous soundtrack was Daft Punk.

Trent has lived in Los Angeles way too long.

This was an excellent explanation of the background, thank you!

You wouldn’t believe the number of people who think owning a phone and traveling to Nepal to climb Everest are the same thing.

[–] calliope@retrolemmy.com 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

Oh yeah there’s totally no difference between having a phone and going to Nepal to climb a mountain…

Genuinely: how fucking stupid are you?

A complex “aerodynamic” case

Hahaha that’s what I call my dick too.

I think this is the dumbest watch I’ve ever seen.

I always try to build things that I might want!

I am fortunate to have a lot of other hobbies, so I build little things for myself for those hobbies.

One of my first scripts I ever wrote around 2004 was a Perl script to get what song was playing and automatically update my IM “status”.

I also made databases of comics and CDs for myself too.

The easiest way to get better is by doing, and doing is way easier when it’s something I care about.

This is not a valuable conversation, because I’ve already told you where I draw the line: somewhere BEFORE “I want to climb Everest.”

The fact that you can’t tell the difference between people traveling all the way to Everest and “everyone” makes me think you’re a bot or a troll.

Again, being judgmental is valuable, this conversation is not.

Billionaires shouldn’t exist, people shouldn’t go to Everest because they are insecure.

Not hard to understand. “But—” nothing.

Ok, you’re not even reading. Pathetic. I’ll block you now, bye!

It’s actually ok to not like harmful things! It’s called having integrity.

Your arrogance is astounding.

Oh, that includes all of the equipment, flights, and transportation?

For one person, right? Comparing it to a family vacation proves my point. A douchebag insisting on going to a big mountain seems a little different than a family vacation…

I will never mind speaking in absolutes about this. If you care about going to Everest, you are a selfish asshole. Full stop. I don’t care that it’s affordable for you, that’s part of the problem.

I don’t care if the locals rely on the abuse, it’s still abuse.
