Imagine a world where the top priority of the police team (not “force”) was to help and support the people. “Help” includes stopping confirmed bad guys but also includes finding the homeless a safe place to sleep.

Send all police trainees to social work school.

What a world that would be.

AI has made memes incredibly low effort. I miss the days of shoddy photoshop and copy-pasted pixels. The shittiness of the imagery emphasized the sarcasm in a way that I cannot explain.

Why is a victim’s statement being posted on Twitter by the government? Why is the government using Twitter like it’s a legitimate platform?

Yeah, I operate on this assumption entirely. I’m pretty sure there was a book published about this idea in the 80s and it was widely read among political leadership.

I….did not realize they were NOT classified as wildlife. Of course they’re wildlife. You can certainly pen up elk and make profit off of them, but that doesn’t mean they’re the same as cows or chickens.

Edit: also, like, they’re native to this land as wildlife, while cows and other domestics were imported??

I didn’t realize that Coors, the beer, funded the start of the Heritage Foundation.

The beer is shit, but now I know that the entire company is also shit.

I was introduced to this gin on a trip to Canada years ago. I still have a bit left. I wish I could find it in the USA.

I think that it’s similar to the idea that anti-racism needs to start with white people.

White people have the social capital to stay safe while protesting—thus able to further the cause for longer—and the subjugation starts with white people so they have a responsibility to start the movement.

Rich people have the economic capital to stay safe while protesting—thus able to further the cause for longer—and the subjugation originates with rich people so they have a responsibility to start the movement.
