As much as I despise the business idea of "let's make taxis cheaper by running illegal taxi companies disguised as tech companies", if they use some of their ill gotten gains to improve #OpenStreetMap, then I'm a bit more forgiving I guess ๐Ÿ˜‚

@joland @TDCN yeah but if you borrow your car to someone they could also just total it in an accident and die, and in that case they also won't be able to give it back to you and you definitely won't get paid for the car.

This is just one more reason to not borrow your car to people you don't trust 100%.

@cypherpunks Interesting point of view. I of course won't argue that the Bluesky has some innovative ideas that are better than what ActivityPub does. But, one is a tried and tested protocol, so we know its weaknesses, while the other is barely a prototype, so we only know its promises.

Of course in a comparison to real-world examples, idealized thought experiments always win.

Time will tell, and if Bluesky's protocol that much better, we will start using it eventually.
