I just watched kingdom of the planet of the apes where ape guy gets captured by badguy apeking and apeking tries to convince goodape to join apeking empire like muahaha im making greatest empire ever come join. and goodape does the typical 'no i hate u' and blows everything up and shatters empire.

I watched that and was like 'omg im so done with that type of movie'. i want one where the protagonist actually has some ambition themself and responds 'omg yes id love to join empire lets conquer world!'. I am reminded of one of gengis khans greatest generals, who initially was an archer who fought against him and shot his horse in the neck. genghis captured all his enemies and was like 'who dafuq shot my horse?'. and the guy steps forward and is like 'sup. i did. now u could either kill me OR let me lead your dudes and be literally the greatest cavalry general of all time.' He then goes on to be a boss.

I NEED MOVIES LIKE THIS.

Not movies where sad ape mad at ambitious ape for conquering world so he wrecks ambitious ape's plans and returns apes of empire to their tribes. I need movie where the captured ape like 'Yes! now watch me unleash my strategic genius using your massive forces! i wasnt able to shine as some no name fisher working for a no name tribe.'

Im not in to horror movies, but i liked the first Silent Hill because it was almost this.

any suggestions plz? also i appreciate them but its hard for me to watch anything from before 2000s or anything where every main character is male.

edit: also the first Watchmen almost comes to mind where teh badguy kills billions of people then convinces the all powerful goodguy to agree with him. isnt quite it, since there are many protagonists that dont join, but its close
