At this point in time, China is just sitting back and laughing as Trump weaken the US.
Remember, don't correct an enemy as they are making a mistake.
For all it's flaws, the TPP was about to effectively zone China out of trading advantageously with the whole developed world. Now, US instability and bullying have made Japan and South Korea partner with China.
Trump is handing China the 21st century on a silver platter.
Imagine being such a clown that Japan, China and SKorea unite against you lmao
Did Japan and SK actually announce collaboration with China, or was it only China that said that they are working together?
They held a rare trade talk, but the announcement came from Chinese state media.

It's also quite ironic that originally China's low wages were seen as the core problem/reason how they could offer products so cheaply.
But the way Trump is destroying things the need for low US wages will come up again...
Alas, of course everything across the board will get more expensive with his tariffs, from vegetables, to electronics, energy and housing, so the common worker will be screwed and locked in his situation, preferably unable to go on strike.
They're patiently waiting for the value of American businesses crash hard to buy it for cheap
I'm sure they rationally assume Trump is totally unfamiliar with that policy.

Other than the crippling economic crisis it's putting us through, I really like that things in the grocery store are better labelled to show they're local or Canadian now. I've always preferred to buy local because it's better for the environment, now it's easier.

Well it's a single trading block with free internal trade, it would be Impossible have different import tax levels for different countries within the union without them being trivial to circumvent.
if he really wanted to do some damage, he could pick a random port city - Durrës, say - and decide that goods sent from there incur no tariff. then, after the logistics change to ship out of there, invert the tariff structure and send that region into unrest

Putting tariffs on Taiwan is the first step to making them reconcile with China.
