How much you wanna bet WE(the consumer) have already started paying for tariffs that aren’t being charged yet.

People have been posting screenshots of invoices with line items labeled "tariff surcharge" on them already.
Yeah so this article is about how that shit is fucked up right now. Just because they printed it on paper doesn’t mean anybody is collecting the money, just as the article describes. Admittedly this does not mean not a single tariff has been collected but that there is a huge issue at hand, and my point is that big business will take advantage of this opportunity to double their profits short term by fucking all of us even harder than they already do.
The second the tarriffs were first announced I was notified the 3-4 of the products I had on my Amazon "Save For Later" list had simultaneously increased in price, and they were all things that were expected to ship from outside the country.
“There has been some confusion on what President Trump has said in social media posts on when the tariff starts and what is written in the executive order,” Jarred Varanelli, vice president of U.S. sales at logistics firm Savino Del Bene, told CNBC. “Social media posts are not law on the pause and increase in tariffs. With the constant changes to the regulations, all customs brokers in our industry have a difficult task ahead of them.”
If there were doubts about the tariffs being a wise policy, those have increased several times over the fact that U.S. authorities can’t even implement them.
The incompetence is incredible, given the destruction conservatism has caused to the United States in just a few days.
But if the purpose of it all was just that, destruction, then I guess it's understandable.
They need to fire those folks. and they need to keep on firing and firing until the work gets done!!!
promote this man
then fire him
It was never about tariffs. It was always about manipulation of the market.
Oh, and the investors just love this sort of uncertainty… Well as long as they sold all of their stocks a few months ago, so that now they have plenty of cash to buy everything back at half the price.
I trust you saw the spike in trading volume just before the tariffs were repealed? That's was insider investors love.
I think they were being sardonic.
nothing is half the price. the market did not fall that much. Maybe 20% with the right picks.
Hyperbole is a thing and a 20% dip is still yuge.
Well, there is the inside club that did pretty much this
My sister works in customs for a company in Mexico and they are definitely paying tariffs. They need to get a certificate for stuff that is covered under USMECA and iron parts pay 25% on top of any other tariffs. They have an office close to the border that checks which tariffs are in effect at that time because the official publication can't keep up
thanks, DOGE, i guess????
His primary goal is to manipulate the stock market to make him and his ruling class buddies richer. That's all. The fact they're in effect unimplementable is irrelevant to him.
Someone pick up that phone cause I fucken called it!
