This is just so similar to the strange culty things I was seeing in 2011 on spaces like /pol/ and 8chan. Rabid, violent philosophies being developed in discords. You have teenagers and adults - some of whom are probably adult men intentionally trying to create this kind of death cult.
The “billions must be saved” is just setting off so many alarm bells in my head.

Serious. I follow several of these little groups. Discord server seems fairly active, in the dozens.

I think there is something sinister going on.
Something else I am seeing, a group aligned with the transphobia crowd, is an anti-adoption movement. It’s really complicated and subtle, but I think there’s anti-abortion and pro-trad marriage types sneaking into spaces labeled “feminist.” Tumblr has a lot of teenagers on it, including very young ones, who are getting suckered into some dangerous ideologies.
Yeah it's definitely a right wing christian agenda in this whole thing. Same as with the 'manosphere', which started out telling people to be tough and 'manly' and has ended up with something like purity culture where they evaluate women to carry their babies for them and vote against women's rights. I even saw a stat that these same young men that follow the manosphere are starting to turn religious, surprise surprise.
This TERF shit is the same agenda but for women. And the terminology is slightly more sophisticated because it's aimed at people that actually read and won't believe just any story about George Soros or whatever. So their version of "woke agenda" is "trans ideology". But they're both the same, both fighting to preserve and enforce white christian patriarchal culture onto everyone and push down and eradicate anyone who breaks norms.
And the sad part is that I think a lot genuinely think they're trailblazing rebels or something. But they're doing exactly what the conservative religious right wants. The same people that want to see them reduced to kitchen appliances and baby incubators.
It's interesting to me that they infiltrates what's essentially been kind of a bastion of rabid pro LGBTQ+ rights media. There's a lot of pro-trans users on Tumblr. It'd be like going to xitter and trying to infiltrate and spread pro-liberal information. The main user base doesn't really align with that.
La Leche is a group which in some areas is great at helping mothers who want to breastfeed, but have medical/societal barriers. In other areas, it seems to exist to shame adoptive mothers and those who don’t want to breastfeed. If I wanted to find terfs in my area, that’s where I’d look.
Yeah - La Leche pamphlets have always seemed a little… off…
The TERFs get extremely upset at trans women breastfeeding. It’s one of the things a trans woman can do that puts them in the “worthy of death” category.
Several TERFs have made extremely violent posts. Tumblr won’t take down the posts or ban the people, but it will not let me call them out on their violence. My screenshots get taken down for “violating community guidelines” but the actual “i want trans people dead” things stay.

It is extremely common in tumblr TERF spaces to refer to each other as “gyns,” if that helps for further inspiration.
