Trump, Musk, Putin and Xi getting deserved karma. (unlikely to happen but wishful thinking).

Steam Deck 2 or Steam console

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

And Wilders, Orban, Weidel...

[–] superniceperson@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Putin Xi in the same category as trump, musk, and putin is crazy work

[–] Zetta@mander.xyz 2 points 3 days ago

I'd rather be maxing my social credit rn now vs being in America

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago

Can add Doug Ford to that list as well. He is following the fascist hand book to a T here in Ontario.

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

Yes, but also mine.

[–] PhobosAnomaly@feddit.uk 11 points 4 days ago

Ah yes, a fellow person who hates disposable income too!

Congrats!

Civil war. Not exactly looking forward to it per sé. Just expecting it.

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I mean 6 months is a stretch, I’m thinking next week or so at this point. First time Trump orders military to shoot at civilians I fully expect the west coast to secede, followed by New England

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Another shot heard round the world.

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

Yea, I fucking hate this timeline -

[–] formulaBonk@lemm.ee 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

That would be great improvement to both Canada and New England/west coast however I do not see that ever happening given trigger happy authoritarian in charge would simply use that as an excuse for military occupation of said states. They’d use the same excuse as Russia did for invading crimea except they’d sort of have a point because there is no “legal” way for a state to secede by its own volition I don’t think.

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Well yea, it’ll be a civil war - you’ll see the military fracture as parts of the military will side with both sides - you also have to remember that the mast majority of people live in New England and the west coast.

It’s not going to be “ the military gets called in” it’s going to be “half the military went awol and took equipment with them, along with civilian groups joining up to defend their states”.

And since Trump pretty much pissed off all our allies, and Russia is a bit busy at the moment, we will probably see support given to the seceding states by Europe, as no one wants another dictator led super power.

Civil war is coming, at this point the only thing that could stop it is if orange douche canoe, his couch fucking sidekick and the “I totally don’t masturbate to gay porn” speaker of the house had a Russian style window experience.

US i suppose?

[–] pogodem0n@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

Finally getting to play Hollow Knight: Silksong

[–] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 9 points 4 days ago

Should see some serious progress on some mental and physical fitness goals. Really excited about that!

[–] superniceperson@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Collapse of the us. Genuinely hope it happens this time instead of people just accepting having fewer rights again.

[–] LandedGentry@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Kind of twisted to wish for a situation that will inevitably kill countless people

[–] superniceperson@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

As opposed to the countless people currently being killed?

[–] LandedGentry@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

You present this as a binary choice, as if that’s a given. It is not. If you want to assert that it is, show us your homework.

You sound like a frothing at the mouth warhawk. People who have already decided that the only path forward is war. Revolution should be the absolute last resort, not something people eagerly cheer for.

[–] nico198x@europe.pub 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

you're just worried about your massive land holdings in the Colonies. i'm onto you...

[–] LandedGentry@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 days ago

Tsk tsk hrumph

[–] zxqwas@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

First a few weeks of vacation, working during summer is basically vacation because noone wants anything not urgent done.

Then hunting season when I'll have my actual vacation.

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What industry are you in that summer becomes so easy to work in?

[–] zxqwas@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Automation Engineer. Everyone of our customers have half their workforce on vacation and they will delay any non urgent work for when they are back.

So my job turns into cleaning the workshop and waiting for a thunderstorm to zap something expensive and send spare parts.

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Sounds like you’re not in capitalist USA.

[–] zxqwas@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Scandinavia.

[–] sanguinepar@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Trying to get into better shape through better diet and getting back into cycling. Enjoying it so far, although only in week 2.

Also, going on holiday to France soon, first time I've been abroad in years, can't wait!

Good weather activities! Like:

Biking! Street Fairs! Free concerts! Farmers markets! Parades!

[–] quediuspayu@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

I have 50m2 garage I want to turn into a workshop mainly for sewing but also for other compatible activities like origami.

My dream would be to make it available to other people as some sort of creative space.

The objective for the next 6 months is to clean the yard that leads there, get rid of most of the stuff stored in there and find an advisor (not sure if it is the right word) to help me with the renovation process because I have no clue.

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 5 points 4 days ago

There is a chance, albeit somewhat small, that I will finally be able to pay off my student loans in the next six months.

Started at $60,000 and now they're down to like 14. But I'm expecting a pretty large bonus coming up in the next few months, And if it does come through and no unexpected expenses pop up to take it away, then there's a chance.

[–] anomoly_@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Nothing. Recently lost my job and have absolutely no confidence that I'll be able to get another; so life is pretty much at a standstill until something happens with that.

[–] DasFaultier@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 days ago

Oh dear dog, it is already? FML...

[–] cattywampas@lemm.ee 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Going to the UK for 10 days in October, very excited for that.

Academic year is largely done, so I'm looking forward to three months of kicking the arse out of my gaming to-play list; getting out running more; and spending time with the family.

For the second three months, I'm looking forward to enjoying the study and achieving good grades, before it fades away into another nine month slog and the pass mark becomes the target and not the minimum 😂

[–] N00b22@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 days ago

Get Switch 2 (this is for christmas)

Well I'm finishing school in the next couple of weeks, so that's great.
Also will probably start redoing my driver's license (I started 3 years ago, had to pause because of school) and start saving money for a Ninja 250r.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Getting the hell out of Texas. I'm moving to Pennsylvania in a month and change after living in Texas for almost 10 years and hating it here the whole time. It'll be nice to be out of the aggressively backwards deep-red South. Kinda wish I was moving southwest instead of northeast, but that shit's just way too expensive. Plus it'll be nice to be out of the oppressive heat and humidity of the Gulf Coast for 8 months out of the year.

I guess for me there are two festivals I am looking forward to. Also..saving. My cat got really sick last winter, which did cost me a lot and now I am trying to build up my savings again. I also hope that he will pass smoothly, unfortunately the latest diagnosis for him was dire.

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Maybe I'll finally get better? I'm chronically ill.

[–] 65gmexl3@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

sorry to hear that. hoping for the best

[–] shneancy@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

i'm looking forward to getting a stable-ish job after my trial period. i already accepted an internship and have another offer on the table that can fill in my time nicely

i'm also looking forward to playing Patapon 1 & 2 replay, and Ratatan, and maybe even Silksong but it's been so long i'm not sure it's not just a collective hallucination

[–] Squorlple@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

The same only thing we’ve had to look forward to every night, Pinky: the next installment in an entertainment media franchise

Developing some home automation using NodeRed and a bunch of cheap ESP32s I got on aliexpress. Been studying up on it lately. All I really want to do is turn lights on and off, but wirelessly. Also doing more 3d design & printing, and making some kind of impressive Halloween thing - I kind of want a large floating eyeball, maybe suspended from a dark pole up on the roof so it's out in the air like it's levitating. The bigger the better. It would be cool to detect motion and have the eye move like it's following people, and of course blink. And fog. There must be fog.
