Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

it's pretty much my full time job to look after myself rn - recovering from surgery involves a lot of self care 😄

I'm going to train a few times this week, it always helps my mood. I've also got lunch with a friend and coffee with another which will be lovely. I've got a really nice bar of chocolate which I'm really looking forward to trying... that's a great way to look after myself!

Sounds like you're all set to have a great week!

Hopefully so!

I just got an appointment for an adhd assessment this week.

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh crikey how are you feeling about it?

[–] Okokimup@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I've suspected I have it for a while. My mom recently got diagnosed and made me an appt with the same lady, whom she really likes. So I'm happy to go and see if she can do anything to help me improve my quality of life.

That's a great thing to be doing. Being diagnosed as neurodiverse changed my life in lots of brilliant ways, there's loads of tweaks that massively helped. Let us know how it goes we're all keeping our fingers crossed 🤞

I'm finally starting HRT this week. I'm not sure what to expect but I'm excited! So far the only downside is that I have to go off of the birth control pill for this, so I'm going to have to have periods again. 😡

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That's great news mate! I'm really pleased. How hard was it to get the HRT?

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm happy too! It was surprisingly easy once I found the right doctor. I went to a GYN who specializes in perimenopause and she really listened to me, and had a whole plan for approaching it. I'm starting with progesterone, and in 3 months we'll adjust the dosage if needed and add estrogen, and 3 months after that we'll adjust again and add testosterone.

I was so relieved because the previous 2 GYNs I went to didn't seem to understand. The first (a man in his 60s) said I was too young and my symptoms were probably from stress, not peri. 🙄 The second (a woman in her early 30s) said it was probably peri but there was nothing she could do since normally she'd prescribe birth control for my symptoms, but I was already taking it. This time I looked for a woman who was definitely old enough to have been through peri herself, and one who specializes in peri instead of just a regular GYN.

Third time's the charm, I guess!

Just goes to show what a difference a practitioner makes! I'm really glad mate it looks like you've got a clear plan in place for it and there's tweaks you can make along the way. Let us know how it goes!
