IIRC a study did show that does fuck up a lot of them. I can’t remember if they are temporarily or permanently blinded, but it’s not great for them.

lol ... it would be like an alien species flying around in a floating spaceship over a city and using a floodlight that emits powerful xrays to view everything around it, blasting everyone with radiation that will make everyone sick and unwell .... all the while the aliens capturing documentary footage of this planet full of life they've never seen before.

I recently went through a 1 pound bag of pulled pork in a single sitting. That, was fun.

[–] affenlehrer@feddit.org 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[–] Krauerking@lemy.lol 17 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Yeah my fun had spiced apple cider infused pulled pork and meat sweats. I think we are talking about basically the same thing here.

The scientists:

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 47 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 53 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Technically accurate, it's just millions of thousands

[–] Colloidal@programming.dev 18 points 1 month ago

It's like saying Julius Caesar is dead for over sixty years. Technically true.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 27 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Can’t we make super sensitive camera sensors that make sense in such dark environments?

[–] Colloidal@programming.dev 36 points 1 month ago

We kinda can, but they sort of require the frame to be still, which is not a thing in the deep sea.

[–] Godric@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought they claimed to enjoy photons. Fake fan!

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 20 points 1 month ago
