Damn, the Criminal in Chief convicted of fraud (by a jury of his peers) pardoned another criminal republican convicted of fraud (also by a jury of his peers).

I'm glad that these guys are the party of law and order.

Also,

Santos pled guilty. One of his co-conspirators gave testimony and reached a plea deal and they had him dead to rights so he pled guilty in his own plea deal. Probably to get less time.

In a social media post, Trump said Santos, who he called "somewhat of a 'rogue,'" had the "Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!"

Which means you're allowed to commit crimes!

Nah that's the first amendment, but it's easy to mix up half the country doesn't understand that

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 62 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

So at this point what's stopping people from committing crimes and then just contributing a bit to Trump and telling him he's the greatest guy for a pardon?

There is literally no oversight over who the President of the US pardons, it's insane.

It's almost like people have been calling it a failed system for years but were hushed by those reaping it's benefits.

[–] FoxyFerengi@startrek.website 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Comically, this didn't work for the Tiger King

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah but Tiger King is broke.

Trump is a criminal's best friend.

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

As long as they'll kiss his ass

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Or bring him little girls.

[–] insight06@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago

This is the sort of thing that causes people to lose whatever faith they may have had in the justice system and start taking it into their own hands.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

See? Trump loves crossdressers.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

He certainly loved Rudy Giuliani enough to motorboat him when he was in drag.

Usa republicans are such a weird alliance of values. It seems that on one side there's a bunch of xenophobes who don't care if someone is a lying corrupt grifter, as long as their skin has the right color and they profess the right racist + misogynist values. And on the other side there's a bunch of lying corrupt grifters, who don't care what skin color or sexuality someone has, as long as they're also lying corrupt grifters.

There are two sets of laws in this country. It's a disgusting shame.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Seems like you're well on the way to zero sets of laws. Just corruption and thuggery.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Sometimes I think no set of laws would be preferable. At then everyone would be on the same footing, at least in the legal department.

[–] obvs@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

There isn't even a country.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

So bold of Trump to commute the first female Olympian to walk on Mars.

As someone who isn’t up on all of this, I saw another post that said there are gov sites asking for name, email, etc. This site is asking for this info.

How do you know if it’s gov vs not?

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Oh good I’m sure this will help fix the economy, lower the price of gas, groceries and housing, stop the war in Ukraine, help rebuild and improve life for the people of Palestine, and reopen the government and fully release the Epstein files. So much winning everywhere America!

[–] Hayduke@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Game recognize game.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Can we ship Santos somewhere else. Preferably the bottom of lake Havasu with a pair of concrete boots.

[–] Infinite@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Gross.

Some of us want to swim in Havasu sometimes.

You will swim with the sludge lad!

[–] pr06lefs@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

He is my favorite republican. An unrepentant scoundrel, shilling for a party that is in opposition to everything he is, riding a wave of transparent lies, and somehow coming out on top - for a while. And now back on top again!

[–] roserose56@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 week ago

Every day USA news! You gotta to love what Trump says and does, so people feed themselves with something to talk.
Dethrone Trump yesterday.

[–] avidamoeba@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago
