I think it's really weird that inclusion is political.

Some of my favorite tweets have been the ones accusing Grok of being broken. One tweet even "threatened" Grok for abuse?

So he gets hired as a civil war expert on Fox News?

The story began in early 2017, when Abigail Piland was born without any obvious problems. But when the midwife who helped deliver her checked back the next day, Abigail didn’t look healthy. The midwife told mother Rachel Piland to take the child to a hospital because the baby “could suffer brain damage or die if not properly cared for.”

Rachel refused, insisting “God makes no mistakes.”

Days later, Abigail was dead. (Rachel and her husband Joshua then prayed for Abigail’s resurrection. Surprise: That didn’t work, either.)

A medical examiner later attributed the death to “unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia and kernicterus,” both jaundice-related problems that were treatable. Abigail never had the chance to see a doctor when blood was coming out of her mouth, or when she wasn’t eating, or when her skin became further discolored. All because her parents put more trust in God than someone who could actually help.

Dr. Phil McGraw’s conservative-leaning cable network Merit Street Media is filing for bankruptcy barely a year after its launch, and is also suing its distribution partner Trinity Broadcasting for breach of contract.

In its lawsuit against the Christian broadcaster, Merit Street alleged that Trinity “reneged on its obligations and abused its position as the controlling shareholder of Merit Street,” leaving the upstart channel with over $100 million in debt.

Reform councillor’s boast about removing ‘trans-ideological’ books from children’s library sections falls flat

A boast by a Reform UK councillor that he ensured the removal of “trans-ideological material and books” from the children’s section of his county’s libraries has fallen flat after it emerged that no such material ever existed there.

The car came to rest more than 70 metres away, on the opposite side of the road, leaving a trail of wreckage. According to witnesses, the Model S burst into flames while still airborne. Several passersby tried to open the doors and rescue the driver, but they couldn’t unlock the car. When they heard explosions and saw flames through the windows, they retreated. Even the firefighters, who arrived 20 minutes later, could do nothing but watch the Tesla burn.

At that moment, Rita Meier was unaware of the crash. She tried calling her husband, but he didn’t pick up. When he still hadn’t returned her call hours later – highly unusual for this devoted father – she attempted to track his car using Tesla’s app. It no longer worked. By the time police officers rang her doorbell late that night, Meier was already bracing for the worst.

Your pixel 5 didn't just mysteriously die? There was a wave of them dying. Mine was part of the crossfire.

I loved the pixel 5 too, for like 3 years then mysteriously croaked.

Currently on the pixel 6 which is pretty good.

Am I overreacting for canceling my birthday dinner because of what my friend texted me?

So I (F18) was really excited to celebrate my birthday this weekend. I made a simple dinner reservation, invited 7 close friends, and told everyone that it was casual—nothing fancy, just good vibes and food.

This morning, one of my friends—let’s call her Jenna (F18)—sent me this text. I honestly don’t know what to feel. I ended up canceling everything, and now my phone is blowing up with people asking what happened. Some say I’m overreacting and being dramatic. Others say Jenna was just being honest.

Here’s the text she sent me at 10AM—what do you think?

I honestly just wanted to have a nice night and forget about all the stress. Now I feel embarrassed and stupid. Am I overreacting for canceling?

JENNA: idk how to say this without sound-ing mean but i just don't think it's a good idea for you to throw a birthday dinner when literally nothing in your life is together rn lol

Op: ?? what does that mean

JENNA: like ur always anxious, you dropped out of classes, and u just seem kinda all over the place. i feel like celebra-ting rn is a little... weird? like maybe focus on getting things on track first. not trying to be rude just real.

Op: Wow. Got it.

I always see this as a suggestion but when I researched it, it landed on a few issues if you're over 18yo.

  1. Professionals struggle to diagnose adults because if we got this far, we've learned a lot of coping/masking mechanisms that can hide issues

  2. Professionals are often trained on autism data for children, where they can quickly pick out signs. Diagnosing adults requires significantly more study time, and using data for children.

  3. The cost for these are not covered by most insurance, and the fees can range a couple thousand of dollars.

  4. Confirmed diagnosis only verifies if you are on the spectrum. But it also adds it to your health records, which may be used against you (as we've seen governments do).

This is all information from Autism Speaks and a few other resources.

I'm not for or against. I'm pointing out the discoveries I saw when I explored it.

It's reached a point where the government is pushing for websites to card you before you can enter.

Women apps were giving data so the government can arrest women for abortion-like behavior.

We're already at the point where privacy/anonymity is the only way to visit the internet.

Appreciate this.

That's how classic Reddit was for me.

Mods who are extremely rigid to the rules had to exist when the spammers went crazy. But with smaller communities, modding should be based on vibes. You get better conversations that way.

Honestly that sounds great. I'm kind of annoyed how often NordVPN keeps emailing me and trying to upsell me on the daily.

The service is fine overall. But the nonstop promotion, along with it being a US company that can easily just give all their info to the US government, makes me wanting to switch pronto.
