I wondered the exact same thing, but I came to the conclusion that there isn’t anything about the drawing that indicates it’s Andy Kaufman.

If you’re curious, here was my thought process.

It doesn’t look like him very much (Andy Kaufman was tall and lanky, his nose wasn’t long, his feet definitely touched the floor in a chair), I don’t remember him being famous for throwing food, and there are many ways to indicate it was him. Hairstyle, outfit, props (his Mighty Mouse routine was iconic).

I think ultimately Andy is just perceived more as a childish name than Andre.

In The Office, Andrew Bernard comes back from anger management class and wants to be called “Drew” because it feels more mature to him than “Andy.”

MYTH: ICE agents are required to identify themselves.

FACT: Most ICE agents are preverbal.

If they knew what “preverbal” was they’d be furious.

“Clearly” not.

If it were clear we wouldn’t be having this discussion, would we?

There are smarter discussions about this in this very thread but you came here to downvote instead of reading.

Every time I go on lemmy.world I get dumber. Oh damn what a surprise the non-readers are from there too

Let me just filter that out too…

Obama wrote this on the anniversary of the Oct 7th attacks and was referring to the families of those specific attacks.

That’s why he started with two years and published it really close to two years after the Oct 7th attacks.

It’s obvious from context. “Uncle Tom,” indeed.

Ms. Rachel didn’t do a good job of reading this.

Now that you mention this it seems really obvious.

It’s October 10th for me right now. The October 7th attacks were two years ago. He starts it with “two years of suffering for [some] Israeli families and the entirety of Gaza.”

Who has been suffering?

Families of the Oct. 7 attacks — Israelis as a whole haven’t been suffering. All people from Gaza have.

Went all the way to “uncle tom” for this one, huh OP?

This was passed during the previous administration, so of course they’re trying to get rid of it.

“It’s not good for consumers it’s bad for business!”

Looking at Medusa turned things with sight to stone. Not her looking at things.

So it would have to be a Toy Story or Beauty and the Beast situation where she was delighted that her things came to life… only to be turned to stone because of how ugly she is.

My Dinner with Andre is a movie about a man named Wally having dinner with a man named Andre.

Andre has recently returned from traveling the world. He went to the Sahara, Polish forests, an ecological commune in Scotland.

Wally lives a more “simple” life and likes life’s small pleasures like a cup of coffee.

The joke in this comic is that the man is having dinner with someone named “Andy” instead, who throws food instead of having intellectual conversation about ecological communes.

Ah, we’re to “blame Obama for this” instead of blaming the senators who outright refused to look at Supreme Court Justices for a year.

FYI, this was not in the museum but was briefly available at the gift shop. As evidenced by the price tag.

Same for me! For niche hobbies, Reddit still has a lot of valuable older information. That might change though.

I would even settle for: what’s in the metal cup? Flour as a thickener?

Any time I see hand-shredded cheese I know I’m probably in for a good mac
