I'm banned from redd... oh you said fun.

[–] vorpuni@jlai.lu 1 points 7 minutes ago

I banned myself from casinos where I live and in all neighbouring countries because the house always wins and there should be no way I can give them money. (The gambling regulators allow you to ban yourself) I've never been to a casino I just know I can't be trusted.

I was banned from an arcade because I had discovered that if you placed a strong enough magnet near the coin door of most of the cabinets you could pull together the leafs of the service switch and just get free games. Was a wee kid so they just never allowed me to enter again. But boy wasn't that the start of a hobby. Now i Reverse engineer things for fun.

I'm banned from Hollister.

As a teen, my sister & I were trying on clothes, and we realized that it was nearly the alloted time when our mom was going to pick us up. If we were late.... there would be hell to pay and we wouldn't to be able to go out for a while. So I scrambled out of the clothes, and, in a rush to not drop any of the stuff I was trying on, I stuffed it all into a pair of pants and draped it over the hanger for clothes you don't plan to purchase outside of the dressing room. We thanked the attendant and headed for the exit.

Suddenly, she was following us. As we exited the store, she yelled from the entrance "You are banned from ever setting foot in here again!! I will call security if I ever see you!!!" pointing at me. I was already in a rush, so I was confused af.

The only thing I can think I did was putting clothes in the pants..? Did she think it was a shoplifting attempt..? But I had legt it behind..? I dunno.

Anyhow, I've literally never purchased anything from there before or after. I hung with goth kids. I was just there because my sister liked it. Lol Plus, it was so ridiculously dark in there, you could barely see anything anyhow. No desire to shoplift their tiny, low-quality clothes. Ever.

It closed down years ago. I still remember that angry woman & how stunningly confused I was lol

EDIT: oh..... the title says "fun places"..... oops.

Well... to make up for wasting people's time, I also got banned from our local county fair because my sister's idiot friends were throwing coins at people from one of rides that went up in the air.

I am banned from an hospital and a country.

No, I was not an unruly patient, but instead called out their bullshit as a healthcare provider working with them. And reported them. Which lead to them banning me. Which funny enough is illegal here as well.

And I am banned from entering Turkey. Turkish airlines nearly killed me during a flight by having some sharp pieces in my food. Had a gastric bleed from it,including a hospital stay in a foreign country. Well. My travel insurance sued them and thinks got ugly. In parallel the political party I then was a somewhat active member of back then (as in "running for state parliament"-levels) was getting in arguments with Erdogan. So one day I received a letter by my foreign department that I specifically should not enter Turkey or I might see a Turkish prison from the inside.

I'm banned from certain casinos, virtual and IRL, because I work in the gambling industry and my parent company owns them so there is a potential conflict of interest.

Arguably worse than most of the replies here since it is a career choice instead of one act of indiscretion. My company was featured on John Oliver last month lol, I was saying we needed to add it to our branding, "As seen on tv!"

Reddit. First strike was an anti religion comment. Got back after my 3 days and the first thread I saw was something in one of the popular subs where everyone was shitting on religion. Second strike was cheering on the bear in a clip where a bear turned on a circus trainer for "wishing harm". Third and final strike was for shitting on the manosphere for, and I quote, "hatred towards vulnerable and marginalized groups."

All three came in the last two or three years, after being on the platform for more than a decade and never being suspended before that.

[–] Proles_Uprising_Now@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I got banned for harassment of poor CEOs for supporting our Saint Luigi

[–] Hadriscus@lemm.ee 2 points 51 minutes ago

hey me too ! high five

[–] hungryphrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 hours ago

Andrew Twat is so vulnerable and marginalized :'(

One Irish Pub (popular chain here in France/Europe) in Avignon cause I puked all over the counter. Although I assume they've forgotten cause it was about 10 years ago... but I also haven't drank in about 5 years so it's not like I care, lol.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 36 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I work near a casino. I told my colleagues I'm banned for counting cards, so I don't have to go with them and I have an easy and bulletproof excuse to not go.

Mysterious. I like your style…

[–] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 33 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

I got banned from Six Flags once when I was a kid

I was on that ride that shoots straight up and hangs for a moment before dropping

I wanted to get a picture of the view at the top, but but when I pulled the disposable camera out of my pocket some change fell out and it nearly hit the crowd below

When getting off the ride the young guy running the ride rolled his eyes and gave me a speech he was clearly forced to memorize, banning me from the park.

I felt bad about what had happened, and I just walked away to find my parents.

He didn't take my name or picture. No one ever came to escort me from the park, so I guess I was never actually banned.

Just made me think I was.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 6 points 4 hours ago

A ritual excommunication? I wish we had a transcript. Were you abjured?

[–] PalimpsestNavigator@midwest.social 5 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Ooooh, bummer. Good story though. At Six Flags Fiesta Texas, this ride is called “Dungeon Drop”.

[–] yeehawboy@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

It’s called Mr. Freeze in six flags over texas (Dallas)

[–] PalimpsestNavigator@midwest.social 0 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I see! So they moved the Batman rides, huh? Nice

[–] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I can't ride the Batman roller coaster anymore 😞

My torso is too long, my shoulders get pinched when lowering the restraints into position

[–] Lembot_0002@lemm.ee 24 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Reddit. Because, you know, write messages...

🫡 That’s a badge of honor, right there.

[–] Lennnny@lemmy.world 14 points 5 hours ago (5 children)

Various Wetherspoons in England, because I hated queuing for the girls loo, so I'd just run into the men's. Apparently they don't like when you do that.

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 1 points 23 minutes ago

I wonder if you're banned for violating the restroom or more because you didn't respect the integrity of the queue.

[–] Moonweedbaddegrasse@lemm.ee 9 points 5 hours ago

I have seen a number of girls do that tbf. You are not alone (unless each time it was actually you)

[–] PalimpsestNavigator@midwest.social 5 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

She is banned from multiple restrooms...

I need to meet some British women

Toilet policing is a bizarre British cultural ritual I honestly doubt I'll ever understand, but it's the sort of quirk that's probably to be expected from that sort of backwards little shithole country.

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

Huh. I've never seen that before. Men don't mind.

[–] dumblederp@aussie.zone 1 points 5 hours ago

I've taken so many girls to the gents for a wee at big events. I do like spoons though. Something about it's trashiness appeals.

[–] blindbunny@lemmy.ml 7 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Go karts in Corpus Christi. I like ramming little kids into the walls

[–] slazer2au@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago

With the karts right?

Username checks out.

[–] gilgameth@lemmy.world 14 points 5 hours ago

Bold of you to assume that I go to fun places to begin with.

[–] Cocopanda@futurology.today 11 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Reddit and Facebook. I tend to make enemies with Nazi’s. And those two websites are protecting them.

And they hate our Saint Luigi Mangioni

[–] Tungsten5@lemm.ee 11 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I took part in getting my family kicked out of a Barnes & Noble once. My brothets and I ran around without our shirts on and were yelling. We were caught by staff and they found our parents and told us to leave. Our parents were in a business meeting and were not happy about it.

Dang! What were you even reading?! lol

[–] Brkdncr@lemmy.world 9 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Banned for life from the street runoff sewer system in a relatively small city.

A good place to sleep. I’m sorry they did you like that.

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

I've been banned from Ravelry for many years and I have no idea why. They used to not message people when they got moderated, so I haven't got a clue 🤷.

[–] zipzoopaboop@lemmynsfw.com 0 points 3 hours ago

Nottheonion, because someone didn't like that I dead named Bruce Jenner for being a scum bag

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Nope, as far as I know, I am not banned anywhere

[–] PalimpsestNavigator@midwest.social 3 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Better not slip up!! 😒👈 I’m watchin you. Lol jk

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 5 points 5 hours ago (1 children)
[–] PalimpsestNavigator@midwest.social 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Great pictures! You’re well traveled…

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 hours ago

Thank you, I have travelled a bit, though most was before I got into photography

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 hours ago

Mod notice: we're serious though.
