[–] kieron115@startrek.website 2 points 8 hours ago

Where Is The Lie?

[–] Honytawk@lemmy.zip -2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

So because the guy has a burger and is fat, you think they represent an American?

I think this is more you trying to offend yourself.

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

Scalding hot take bud

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is it because they made him unrealistically slim?

[–] myrrh@ttrpg.network 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

...yeah, the slob in that picture is pretty much me and i'm 220 on a bad day: seven-hundred-pound boss fights are much larger...

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 105 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (11 children)

A 500ml cup? Lettuce in his clean hamburger? What is this Switzerland?

That American should be holding a 4 gallon 7-Eleven container filled with Mountain Dew and his burger shouldn't have any vegetables unless it was squeezed out of a bottle and the liquid just dripping all over his shirt, thighs and that brand new chair .... and he shouldn't be weighing 200lbs, he should at least be a 300lb behemoth that is straining the structural capacity of that wivel chair.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

I think that's a pretty generous 200 lbs.

[–] nthavoc@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago

He should also be leaning back in chair and getting said drink and food all over his shirt. Leaning over like that to drink is just too much effort. If the chair does not lean back, then some of those wheels should be off the floor to accommodate leaning.

Yep it's so unfair that fashion uses unattainable levels of beauty every time. This is the equivalent of the anorexic model wearing high fashion on the cat walk to sell eye liners.

Lol, that cup is legitimately so small...

[–] mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

All joking aside, the cup really is too small and the burger really is too lettucey to look authentically American, 100% seriously

[–] pupbiru@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

that cup seems pretty regular sized to me, as aussie…?

[–] mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

That would probably be a "small" at most fast food drive thrus here. Also, nobody orders a small unless they're on a "diet" - in fact I don't think I've ever seen any of my friends order a small. Generally everyone gets a large or extra large (because it's only a few cents more!!), which looks like this here: https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/denise-gray-holds-two-extra-large-soft-drinks-from-news-photo/145545668

[–] seralth@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

I use to order small drinks frequently with no ice. Was the perfect amount of drink and I don't like cold drinks in general. So it worked out.

But recently places have started switching to a very thin cup that basically falls apart if you take longer then 10 mins to drink it all.

So iv stared ordering the larger drink just so I don't have the fucking cup fall apart on me.

[–] pupbiru@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

medium maccas coke here … that i randomly had laying around <_<

there’s a large which is marginally bigger, but no super size or anything

[–] mfed1122@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 day ago

It's so dainty 🥺 yeah, far from the norm here I'm ashamed to say

[–] Squalia@sh.itjust.works 42 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I like the way the "360 swivel" symbol looks suspiciously like the amazon logo

[–] Varying9125@lemmy.world 45 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 30 points 2 days ago (1 children)

[–] RecallMadness@lemmy.nz 8 points 2 days ago

Them in China can only do a 180 Wivel.

Fuck yeah! Murica!

[–] Hugin@lemmy.world 31 points 2 days ago

My culture is not your costume.

[–] baines@lemmy.cafe 25 points 2 days ago (2 children)

what kinda smoothbrain wears a shirt instead of a bathrobe

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 1 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

That looks like an undershirt. Or as I refer to it, "what I wear in the summer almost every single second I'm at home"...

[–] baines@lemmy.cafe 1 points 9 hours ago

the ‘I’m too lazy to take the rest of my work close off’ look

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Or just a pair of “white” underwear with a hole in it.

As a European, i can agree that the soda is to small for an American. And also, that guy looks way better then what's realistic. I give it 3/5 for realism

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And rightly so, americans are twice the size at least.

[–] syreus@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

In the US, the average weight for men is around 199 pounds (90 kg), and for women, it's around 171 pounds (77 kg). In India, the average weight for men is around 145 pounds (65 kg), and for women, it's around 121 pounds (55 kg). That being said Americans are on average 2.5cm taller. Average BMI is 26.5 in the US and 23 in India.

So twice the size? Not really. This picture is amusing though.

[–] sunbrrnslapper@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah this guy should be wearing flip-flops.

[–] Archer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Crocs. Dirty crocs.

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Those fucking casters can't hold 700 pounds gliding around on them.
